Ok Ladies,
I had what the Doc. called a Total Loposcopic Histroectmey !!!
(I spell it wrong every time)

This is my sad, sob story....
after two deliveries and 7 years I have loved my OBGYN she was very good to me and I recommended her to any one I found asking for a good Doc. little did I know, I was going to be sorry for recommending her office or Her to any one. I went in for the post op and all was well. I went in to surgery on the 15th it went well too. I was pleased with her performance, as always! I was at the Baylor women’s canter so I was a happy gal.I love and know the staff there it it was "All Good". All was well, I went in for the post opt. and I had an inturnal infection on my left side and some residual gas from the opt. but was asured the gas was normal and I was given meds. I thought were antibiotics and told that I needed to see her again in 2 to 3 weeks.
Only, I developed an infection on the out side of my left insuture that formed a blister. It ruptured and I was itching so I called the office A.S.A.P. and headed to get in to see her. The Office was lass than helpful when I called "I am sorry mama, but she is booked..." I said, "well, I believe I have an external staff infection and I need to see SOME ONE" ..."Well mama, I guess um...all we have is...well, we can make you an apt. to see the nurse" I said, "That is fine, I.. don't.. care, just get me in today...I am coming right now to your office," .....Well mama, I only have an opening for the nurse at 10:00....
Like I said.... less than helpful...! A Friend who works in the medical profession dorve me....
I went in and waited for at least 30min. then was brought back to see the nurse. She took a quick look at the blister under the in-suture then told me "well there is nothing I can do with that"
I said, "What"
She said, “well it is not oozing so I can not take a culture" (no true) I found out later.
I said, "WHAT, you have got to be kidding"
She said, "No I can’t get anything from it"
I was shocked and than she proceeded to tell me it was a Harpies lesion, I was mad....o so very mad... I had an infection inside that was festering to the outer part of my in-suture and she had the gull to tell me there is nothing they could do! Then sent me home with a bag of Valtrex. What in the world????? My friend, who drove me there, was so surprised to see me after only 10min in the office. She was "TICKED" to put it nicely. She took me to my P.C. and after they took one look at me said WHAT??? "This is staff and got a culture ran blood work and got me in for a C.T.sacan. I was told that, I, infact, had not been given an antibiotic but a med. that was to help with intestinal flora...the med. was what they use on cancer suffers after cemo. I had cervical cancer but no cemo. I was told they got it all out. My P.C. put me on an antibotic, Dyflucan, for my thrush from that other med., and Tordal...for pain.
So, Very long story shot........
I am still having major blot/pain and discomfort after 6 weeks. I ran out of pain meds. I have not seen another OBGYN, yet, but have an apt. to see a NEW Doc. next week. I WILL NOT SEE DOC. Bascom ever again!!!!
I am suffering...it hurts to walk or stand for too long, and I thought I was getting better till just a few day ago.
The pain is like a gas pain some times, some times sharp stabbing, my tummy is hard as a rock at times, and my in surtues are healed from the out side but still sore and brused feeling when I press on them and that's is new!
Could this be from not having pain meds??
Could I have pulled a muscle and or an internal in-suture and not know it??
Is this all gas and blot from the surgery and what can I do about it?? (I.E. over the counter till I get to a Doc.)
Am I just being a BIG BABY???
I know there are other women who are Hissy Gals.... I need to find you and see if you have any wisdom to offer a chick that is going through a ruff time here.

So What Happened?

Ok, so this is what has happened so far....
I have not seen a my new OBGYN yet but have an apt. on the 8th at 2:10. I have how ever, taken the advice of most of the women here and went to see my PC Doc. and she examined me and tried to understand what was going on and like one of the ladies on this site said " Girl.... you may have a nick in your colon"....Well no nick but she ordered me an X-Ray and wouldn’t you know I am blocked and apparently back up bad. I have been having tremendous pain and she attributes it to the back up "Bowl", as she puts it. I have been on this med she gave me now for 5 days and nothing it move'N LOL!....that is so nasty Ya'll I know!!! Sorry if this grosses any of ya'll out, gals. Any way, I am not getting any relief and have not take any new pain meds because they are the cause of the lack of function and digestive health. You see, when you get put under like this it stops all bowl function for the duration of treatment. Unlike my pluming is in this case, it is just supposed to naturally start function again with very minimal aid. Well wouldn’t you know I have to be the 1%. LOL!! I am doing better though, I really laughed hard with my friends and hubby when I got the diagnosis....I mean just to put it in plain down home southern spk....I paid a Doc. to tell me I am full o'____! LOL! Now, that is not all I will be pay'N to see a human plummer to give me some Drain-O! LOL!!!! O...but he is a specialist!
So, ladies think of me when you ....well you know. Thank God for the things we take for granted everyday....even if it is .......
Until I get better I will laugh and find the humer in it all...
Here I sit all broken hearted...
came it [poop] and only farted....
Just a lil'poem that sums up my situation....LOL!!!
O-my gals pray for me!!!!

Girl, I don't know where you live but you need to see an OB/GYN ASAP. I highly recommend Dr. Mary Ann Franken in Carrollton ###-###-####) if that is convenient for you.

That swelling is NOT normal and you need to make sure they didn't nick your bowel as part of the surgery. Start with your PC bare minimum. I wouldn't stop until I found an OB that can see you within a few days. Check other posts on MS for ob recommendations. Yes, they can be hard to get in to but make sure they know you are having surgery side effects and not just "well woman" stuff. See if you can take a copy of your records from both doctors especially the culture and CT results. Your friend should know how to get ahold of them in a timely manner or faxed.

HTH-- stay strong and you are NOT a WIMP!

You need to keep getting medical help. Quit second guessing yourself and calling yourself names. Your life could be in danger. Go to the emergency room if you have to. Seek medical attention until you get well. I will pray for you.

asap ...call the new obgyn and try to get an earlier appt. ie now, and/or see another doc ie pcp or carenow, urgent care, or go to an er room. there are many places you could go to get checked out.
good luck!

You healing should be MUCH smoother than that. I had the abdominal hysterectomy and I was pretty much back to my old self at 6 weeks. I was at my daughter's track practice at 3 weeks. Of course I was cautious with movements and such.

My Dr. Ivan Rovner is FANTASTIC and in my opinion, he saved my life.

C.,
I am shocked with your story and the same time I know what you are going through. I had my daughter via C-section after laboring for 14 hours and not dialting. 1 week later, ran fever, called office, nope it must be a cold did not even want to see me!! 2 weeks go by, then 3. I head to the dr. My stomach was hard as rocks, like yours and I was in pain. Mild fever nothing major. He told me my uterus had not contracted down completeing. okay...so he gave me 500mg of augmentin, at this time I had no clue that was a antibiotic, and he did not bother to tell me. But I was too sick to take it all the time. I was swollen and I thought it was post baby fat. 6 weeks later, I woke up, my incision had ballooned up and was hot to the touch I had a 104 fever. Straight to the Er and it was staff all along. So girl, if you are in pain still, and running a fever go straigt to the er. It is so easy to slip in and out of a coma, as I did with a 104 temp. Be careful and always question any dr, when you feel uneasy. I love my OBGYN now, he is awesome, if you need to see someone else. I hope your new one works out and I hope sharing this helps with letting you know that it might still be staff. Simple blood test can reveal high white blood cell count.

My prayers are with you.

Call you new doctor and tell him your symptoms. It may be nothing but you need to put your mind at ease. That's why they go to school and make the big bucks. I wouldn't take a chance on my health. See if you your insurance has a health line. Or look in the phone book. There are lots of on call professional services that are provided by some insurances or companies. I've never had a hysterectomy but that does not sound normal. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Have they checked to see if something was left inside you, like a sponge or something of that nature? Sounds to me that you should definitely be healing better than that.
