I use Renew lotion by melaleuca on both of my boys. If you would like more info message me. My youngest has extremely sensitive skin and it has cleared up his eczema pretty good and helps keep it under control.
Hi, I just found out today that Gerber no longer makes the Grins & Giggles Moisturizing Stick! I now need help finding a new lotion to use on my son's sensitive face. I have tried baby lotions but he says that they sting. The Gerber stick was the only one that he says doesn't hurt. Any help or suggestions would be wonderful! Thanks!

You might want to try a health food store or a Whole Foods type store, they always carry creams without the harsh ingredients that make them sting. Good luck!
Gerber doesn't make that stick anymore- but it's the same company that makes the Aveeno skin stick. Same formula just different packaging. Why spend money on the expensive creams some others have suggested when this works so well? I love the convenience of a solid stick. NO messy fingers, no slimy faces. We switched to the Aveeno stick and have had the same success.

Weleda calendula cream is my favorite for sensitive skin. I also like any California baby creams and sunblock. These two lines are the cleanest in terms of ingredients as well. They are a bit more expensive then other products, but you get what you pay for with quality. Check out the Skin Deep website that explains all the ingredients in many of our favorite body care products: http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/splash.php?URI=%2Findex.php Its worth a look. Good luck!
Jennifer Melaleuca makes a baby lotion that is fantastic. My daughter uses it on her son (he too has sensitive skin) and he has no complaints. contact me with a phone # where I can call you to discuss further if you're interested.
I would try searching for Natural Products in general, or I've had good luck with brands such as Weleda and Aveeno.
i've used a light layer of aquaphor on my daughters face when she had a small case of dry ecxema(spelling!!)
You've gotten some great suggestions - I would just make sure to check out anything before you buy it on www.cosmeticsdatabase.org - an amazing site with ratings of every cream/body product out there, telling you all the ingredients and if they are safe or not. Especially helpful with sensitive skin!
Hi J.,
All my girls have a different degree of eczema, but they all get it on their faces in the winter months. Before we head out, I wash their faces with just water using my hand, not wash cloth, pat dry (leaving slightly moist) and then apply Aquaphor (per doc instruction). I've also started using Cetaphil on days when their skin isn't particularly bad. For my 5 yr old (the driest skin all over)I started using the Cetaphil wash, and it seems to have improved her skin ten-fold. Even as I began scrubbing her the first time, I could instantly tell the difference. She had rough patches on her legs and arms, that have smoothed out by using both the wash and the lotion. I even use it on my 17 month old. It's so light-weight, and fragrance-free, not as thick as Aquaphor. For my baby, I apply it on her hands and face after every feeding, before we head out (first washing with water, of course), and right before bed. I use baby wash 1x out of the 4, and water the rest of the time. If I don't wash her hands right away, and then lotion her up after she eats, the back of her hands start getting scaley right away. :O( Her skin has returned to baby soft, but does require 3-4 times of cleaning and lathering up.
Good Luck!

Both my kids (2.5yrs & 11 months) have sensitive skin and we have had success using Aveeno Baby line of products. When their faces are particularly dry, I'll apply a thin layer of aquaphor on it at bedtime.
We like Johnson's soothing naturals Soothe & Protect Balm
We've always had great luck with the Johnson's balm stick. Good luck! I also swear by Aquaphor for my personal use, and Aveeno lotions.
Good luck!
Hi J.,
I have a great product for you and would be happy to send you a sample if you'd like. It's the Arbonne Baby lotion. It's botanically based, no dyes, no chemicals, fragrance free, hypo-allergenic, and pediatrician tested. My 2 little ones use the baby oil in the tub, along with the wash and then follow up with the lotion after, and it keeps their skin so soft!
You can check it out at http://www.arbonne.com/products/baby/lotion.asp
If you want to purchase online just used this ID# 18015513. Or just send me a note and I can put a sample in the mail to you to try out. It's fabulous!
Talk with you soon.

Johnson and Johnson makes a stick that I used on both of my kids very sensitive faces.
Hi J.,
Aquaphor by Eucerin is very good for the face. You may also want to try the Arbonne ABC products for babies, it works great on my son.
I like Palmer's cocoa butter stick - it's actually about the same size of the Gerber stick, but its Cocoa Butter instead of petroleum. I've used it as a chapstick for years, and now I use it on my girls' cheeks!
HI J. Ive using baby oil( gel )( johnson & johnson) for my 18 month old daughter it has aloe vera & vitamins and it keeps her body moisture all day...........
Hi J.
I use Arbonnes baby line for my 3 yr old. It not only moisturizs but cured her ezcema. Their products are all natural products, vegan certified, not made with chemicals, mineral oil, dyes or fragerances -all which is why your son did not like any other products. Most US made products contain 98% mineral oil(which is a derivated of gasoline), chemicals or dyes. The giggle stick as well is filled with this so its a good thing its gone. Mineral oil clogs pores and effects your internal organs. I can give you a sample if you would like to try it out. Shoot me an email ____@____.com
Hope this helps

Hi J.,
My name is M. and I am an Independent Consultant with Arbonne International. Arbonne is all natural. Their moto is "Pure, Safe, Beneficial". They have skin care products for adults and babies, along with make-up and diet products. They have a great baby line called ABC. My daughter has very senstitive skin and her cheeks can get dry and red. I use the ABC body lotion (made with oat and shea butter) and the redness and dryness goes away. If you'd like more information you can go to www.Arbonne.com or you can e-mail me at ____@____.com
dr beaudreax (maker of the butt cream) has one - and it's really convenient to take with and apply b/c it's like a lip gloss, but it's for chapped baby cheeks and lips. http://www.buttpaste.com/BLButtPaste.php It's called baby kisses - inexpensive too; available at cvs.
You didn't say what is causing the irritation. My friends actually have healed their kids' eczema and similar irritations from within by using a supplement desisgned for kids. It's solving the nutritional imbalance and preventing the problem from developing, rather than treating the symptom after the fact. If they stop the supplement, the eczema comes back. I've talked to tons of people who have gotten rid of allergies the same way. I don't know if your son's issue is some sort of allergy but this supplement would probably work. Also, they are able to use sunscreen in the hot weather because the skin irritation is gone - I don't know if your son can use sunscreen but if that's a problem too, this might be a single solution to several problems. Let me know if you want more info.
Burt's Bees has some great products. And I totally agree about Aquaphor - it's a miracle worker!
Try looking up suggestions on the website for skin deep cosmetic safety data base. It can be very helpful! Good Luck!
California Baby makes great creams that are available at Whole Foods. Their sunscreen is wonderful, I use it myself and I have very sensitive skin.
Have you tried Aveeno products? Those are really delicate on the skin and are usually recommended for children who have exzema.
Eucerin Dry Skin Therapy Original Moisturing Creme (the one that comes in a tub- not the tube or bottle) is great for infants through adults and can be used on the face, arms, legs, etc. It was recommended by my daughter's pediatrician and we have used it for years.
Hi
Both my girls have eczema and we use Hydrolatum. It is similar to Aquaphor (sp) but is a white cream and doesn't leave the oily marks Aquaphor does. You have to ask for it at the pharmacy counter but you don't need a prescription. Most pharmacies don't seem to keep it in stock but will order it for you within a day or two. It comes in a big 1 lb. tub or a smaller tube if you want to try it out first.
Good luck!

Hi!
My poor daughter also has my super fair and sensitive skin, the
only lotion we both use it Aveeno. It also goes on very lightly and
absorbs quick. I think it's the intense moisture lotion- I the baby
aisle with a navy blue cap. Good luck!
Hi J. - this is a great stick: http://www.johnsonsbaby.com/prodPlatform.do?id=2
My son's skin is very fair and he complains that other lotions sting him, too... but he loves this stick. And it's easier to apply! You can find it anywhere - CVS, Target, Stop & Shop, etc. Good luck!
Check out Arbone they have wonderful lotions and creams for children. They are all natural and extremely mild. You can find them online and find a woman near you that sells it. If you are in South Shore, MA I can recommend someone for you.
I use Aquaphor. It's a little greasy, so I use it lightly on my daughter's face and ears after her bath. I had eczema and dry skin all my life and my mom and I have sworn by the stuff for over 30 years - I still use it. Good luck!
Hello J.
im sry that your sons skin product was discontiuned
the product that my pediatrician had recommended my for my sons dry skin with eczema is called aquaphor its made by the company that makes eucerin it not a lotion it a heavier healing ointment its also advanced therapy which I guess is the best and it wont sting your sons skin its actually the best stuff I have used for him because his skin isnt soo dry and his eczema is slowly getting better and it doesnt hurt his skin like all the other products we have tried on him plus I use it on his whole body plus I also use this sometimes on my skin plus the good thing about the company is they also have a baby line of aquaphor products that I didnt know of untill recently when I went on their website I havent tried the baby line yet I want to but have to wait untill I run out of this container and im not so sure it will work as good this one
its expensive but I find it worth it
good luck in your search of a new product for you son....
How about plain old vaseline? That wouldn't hurt him and would moisturize any dry spots. Inexpensive too. Good luck.
