I can't imagine what it must be like to turn your child over to the hands of someone else and trust all will be OK. But I wanted to give you some personal health experience. I was diagnosed with kidney, colon and cervical cancer and just had surgery last week in Albuquerque.) They removed a lot. I was terrified. I have an eight year old and a two year old and my mom had died of cancer when I was eight. But the biggest thing I can tell you is that I got a lot of friends to help out, to sit with my kids and husband. I was in the hospital nine days. I think the support and the feeling that we weren't alone in all of this was so important. I felt a real sense of power greater than me working its magic throughout the last two weeks.
Put together every possible question you have for the doctors. And ask all of them. Nothing, and I mean nothing is a stupid question. Also remember your baby girl will know nothing that goes on. She will feel nothing and because she is young she will recover quickly and go on to live a good life.
I hear Phoenix Hospital is great. Your child is in great hands. Everything will be fine.
