Do any of you have experience with the HCG diet?
Did you purchase drops over the counter? If so where did you get it (what brand)?
Or did you participate with a dr and a prescription?

I am pondering....
Thanks for any info!

What can I do next?

You need to rethink this. If there were a perfect quick loss program, don't you think everyone would be on board?

Read the risks here from US News:

There are safer weight loss programs that don't involve chemicals or hormones and which do not stimulate the central nervous system (combined with lifestyle changes & exercise) - if you want more info, PM me. I'm a nutritional consultant and have helped a lot of people.

All I will say is there are mo magic potions. have a doctor check your thyroid panel and for diabetes and celiac. Follow a reasonable diet and exercisr 30 minutes a day for 4 days a week and 60 for 3. If you see no results after 2 months get the doctor to refer you to a nutitionist and work a personal trainer into your budget.

They lost me with no beer or cheese for over a month! Sorry but if I go without beer or cheese for a month and a half I will lost 50 pounds not using the drops! :p

One of my coworkers did the research on the diet. It really isn't good for your long term health.

A friend of mine did it through a physician in FL. She lost 50 lbs in a short time and looked wonderful. The problem is that without a change in your lifestyle and eating habits the weight just comes back as it did with my friend.

I did try this. I bought the drops from an online company (but most companies aren't allowed to sell HCG drops anymore). I kept with the diet/drops for 21 days and lost 14 pounds. And then I got sicker than I'd ever been in my life before.... awful cold that turned into a sinus infection and I was basically in bed or recuperating for the next month. I didn't gain the weight back, but looking back, I wouldn't do it again. 500 calories is just not enough for your body to fight infections and maintain a healthy balance.

It's truly hard to eat only 500 calories a day. The drops (if you buy reputable good ones) curb your hunger, but it's impossible to go out with friends, travel, etc. when you basically aren't eating.

The drops are a scam. You will actually lose weight without them.... starving yourself like you have to do anyway.

I know three people who did this diet in the last year. They lost a ton of weight and looked great, for about 6 months. As of right now, they all have gained back most of their weight. It's not a manageable lifestyle living on 500 calories a day. It is very hard on your body.

I posted about this last year. I had a friend in FL do it. he lost almost 40 lbs in 45 days - and his eating habits had to change while he was on the "diet"

He gained back 20 of the 40lbs.

Try exercise and cutting your portions back. Talk with your doctor about it too. If you have any heart problems - it might not be good for you to do!!

This is NOT a healthy way to lose weight. I have met 3 people who did this diet. (The drops are not FDA approved by the way.) 1 got sicker then a dog, the other two gained back weight and then some within a year. This is a starvation diet, that NO good doctor would ever recommend.

Do not do this diet. It is really not good for your body! I have had friends do this, and any weight lost was put back on and we are just not meant to live off of 500 calories a day! Good luck, but really, dont do this diet.
