Have Preschool Questions

I am wondering if any of the moms in the Spokane area could give me some input on Preschools in our area? I have a 3 year old daughter who is at home with me all day. She still has 2 years before she starts kindergarten, so I'm not looking to enroll her in a full time preschool yet. I am just looking for a part time preschool where she could have social interaction with other kids 2 or 3 times a week. Most of my friends have much older children, so I am seeking other moms out there who have recently dealt with this situation. The Montessori schools that I have looked in to are 5 days a week. I'm not convinced that at her age she needs something that involved yet. Plus, I'm not ready to give her up every day of the week. I quit working to be at home with her when she was born and 3 years old just seems kind of young to be starting a full time school routine to me. Maybe preschool isn't what I'm looking for....maybe there are other programs out there that I am not aware of? If so, please feel free to introduce them to me as well. I have my daughter enrolled in a once weekly gym class and its not cutting it. She is a very outgoing little girl until you put her in front of a crowd and ask her to do the gym activities. I want to help build her confidence by getting her around other kids more.
Any information would be appreciated.

What can I do next?

Angalique- Northview Christian School is located on Mill road in Northview Bible Church, in Spokane. It offers a 3 year old preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4 year old preschool Monday, Wednesday and Fridays, (both from 9:30-noon) and a kindergarten. They are a very reputable preschool. I speak from experience, both my kids went there and I now teach there! I first heard about it through a neighbor and decided to check it out. I was very impressed. I was impressed by them as a parent, and am still impressed as a teacher. (I have a degree in early childhood education.) They are focused on the whole child and offer wonderful curriculum and learning experiences. They are really good at getting children ready for kindergarten. It is run like an actual school, not a daycare. There are several teachers available for the 3's and 4's and one amazing kindergarten teacher. Registration is available now. You can call the office to get a registration form and/or set up a time to visit the school and tour through the classrooms and watch preschool while in progress. This week is spring break, but you can leave a message at the office at ###-###-#### and someone will contact you. Good luck on your search for the right preschool for you and your sweet girl! :) Feel free to email me, if you have more questions.

There are pre-school co-ops. That is where you attend the pre-school with her and it's usually 2 days a week for 2 hours a day. They have them all over in Spokane.......the valley, the south hill, the northside. I attend one and love it. If you want more info or have questions, please feel free to email me.

I do not know where in Spokane you live but I live down Indian Trail Rd. and my oldest son attends Prince of Peace Preschool. When he was 3 he went 2x a week (Tues & Thurs) and it was $100 a month. Now that he is 4 it is 3x a week (Mon, Wed & Fri) and is $130 a month. It starts at 9am and last till 11:30am. It is a wonderful little school, right by our neighborhood park. They get to walk to it and play when they are 4. It is all a grass field and hill behind the church till you get to the park , so they do not ever have to walk on the sidewalk or by the street...When they are 3 they have a huge playset set up on the grass close to the school. There is a hill along side the building that they use for sledding or just running down, lots of fun!
They do a lot of fun activities and the teachers are all very creative and sweet people. There is always something going on...lots of parental participation...fairs, parties, easter egg hunts, etc. March just ended the month of "Space" and my son made sooo many cute things this month, planets, moon rocks made with glow in the dark paint, a space ship with a picture of them, both front and back, made out of an old cd/dvd/game disk....my son OF COURSE took an old scrathed copy of Ghost recon for the Xbox 360 and I will forever have a reminder of how in love he was with the 360 and his brothers (mostly his older brothers, anything they do is cool!) at this age.

They focus on socialization and getting used to a school setting at 3, and then at 4 they start on the ABC's and 123's!

Even though it is a "church/religious" preschool it is not to heavy on the preaching which I enjoy.
