I found that none of those tanks worked for me! It stinks, and I tried 5 different brands/styles. I'm the same size as you, and the summer heat is rough...
I'm a size 38D and I'm wondering if the nursing tank bras will hold up my breasts and give me any support. I can't stand the summer heat, and wearing a bra, nursing pads, and a shirt is too much for me. I'm thinking of trying the Glamourmom tanks, but before I shell out the $30 I'd like to know if they work.
Thanks for all the advice. I bought a Bravado Nursing Tank because it offered more support and was on sale. I highly recommend it; it looks great, sucks in my tummy, and is super easy to use while nursing.

Hi there,
I am not a D, I am a C....but I do love my nursing tanks. I have a baby girl that will be 9 months next week I nurse and I still wear nursing pads! In the morning is when I leak.
I have bought 1 of my tanks at JC Penney's ... I love it!! Very supportive and I don't hang out. I have also bought a few tanks online from Motherhood Maternity, nursing. I tend to hang out of the top a bit in them, so I wouldn't suggest them to you being as you may hang out as well. I only where these ones around the house.
Nursing tanks are great! Enjoy them...and awesome for you for continuing to nurse your baby!

I wear nursing camis ALL THE TIME! I practically live in the things. It's not quite as much support as in a bra, but it's still good. It's sort of comprable to wearing a sports bra.
I wear an F- and it works for me. But, I wear the cami type, not the expensive glamoour mom or the other brands. You can buy them at target for $19, or on the Walmart website (with free site to store shipping) for $12 each. Walmart has a type that are 2 for $20, but they don't have the under framework support that the slightly more expensive ones do.
I'm a 38DD. I remember trying the Glamourmom nursing tank but I didn't like it and sent it back. I don't remember exactly why I didn't like it (it's been about 2 years), but I'm sure lack of support was probably a factor. I remember wearing the same 3-4 sleeveless nursing shirts whenever I went out in public.
I ended up wearing a Medela brand underwire bra (I had about 3-4 of them) during the day when I was nursing and I nursed for 20 months.
Email if you have any questions....Good luck!
i think victorias secret is startin to sell this type of theing and you can try it on there and see.

Before you shell out the big bucks, try the Target nursing tanks for about $17. I'm a 34D and they work great for me. I wear them at night and around the house. Though when out in public, I still wear my nursing bra.
Good luck!
I am close to your size - I have a great bravado tank with a shrug/wrap which I used a lot in the beginning. Now that I am out and about more I love the Target tanks which are, thinner, a little less revealing, and more sporty.
A "D"...Id pass on the tanks. Once your milk is established and you are feeding on some sort of a schedule then you shouldnt need pads...I mean are you going to wear the pads w/ your tank? that will show thru I am sure. Id get a cotton bra and the thin disposable pads. It all depends on how much support you want. If you normally go w/out a bra in those tanks then you might find the support ok, but they arent supportive at all. They just cover them basically. I vote NO.
i was a 36 c/d and i lived in my nursing tanks. loved them! i got mine at target. if you get them on the snug side you will have plenty of support.
I'm a 36D and I found that the nursing tanks were fine as far as support. Did you ever wear tanks with built in bras pre-pregnancy? The nursing tanks feel pretty much the same as those. The only thing that bothered me with the nursing tanks was that I felt like they left little to the imagination, but I also think my tanks were probably too small for me (my sister gave me all her old maternity clothes and she was a little smaller than me)
Hi L.,
Contact the La Leche League. They may know how to deal with full size support for nursing moms.

Good luck. Hope this helps. D.
I tried this one. I was slightly less endowed than you when I tried the Glamourmom tank. I have to say it was well made and had thick and comfortable material. But if you are looking for support during activities, I don't think you'll get it from this tank. Of course, you may consider that my daughter's birth was over 2 1/2 years ago. Maybe thy've improved their product. :)
I didn't know about them when I had my first, but have used them exclusively for my second and love them! I have however found that the plain black and white ones are a thicker cotton compared to a print one I purchased. The thinner one definitely does not support me as much as the solid color ones. Something to keep in mind if you're a little larger up top already...
there is a great nursing bra in the title 9 catalog. Not so much for working out, but very supportive for daily activities. I find it much cooler for the summer than some other cotton bras that I have
I also second the suggestion to try the Target brand tanks. They've worked great for me.
I'm about the same size and have been wearing the nursing tanks they sell at Target and been really happy with them. In fact, wear them almost every day. They're about $15 and have held up really well.
I was a 34 DD while nursing and LOVED my Glamourmom Tanks tops. (After trying quite a few brands.) They seemed to run a little small. So, though Iw ould normally have been a "small", I wore a medium in Glamourmom. I had like 7 of them! They resell on eBay and craigslist pretty well too!
Last summer Target had them and they were much cheaper - $12-15 in the underwear section. They are of course more like underwear white, black, and grey but they would be a good opportunity to try and see if you like them. While nursing I was a 36C+. I found that the ones that actually had a part that stayed around my breasts(like a bra with wholes in it) were much more supportive than the ones that folded down completely. They were super convienient and I wore them around the house all the time as well as under sheer shirts.
Yes. I 36DD and got the Bravado one and am very happy with it. It holds really well and very easy to use to nurse!
This is it http://www.amazon.com/Bravado-Essential-Maternity-Nursing... and you choose your size according to their sizing chart. I feel it holds better than nursing bras. Also, don't waste your money on Medella nursing bras. Get the ones at Target. They are MUCH cheaper, hold better and look a lot nicer.
I am a few sizes larger and love my nursing tank from Target. I have 4. I started out because I would usually sleep in one when my daughter was first born. Now I just love to wear them around.
HI L.,
I am a 34 D or 34DD, depending on the make of the bra, and I loved the Gilligan and O'Malley nursing tanks that they have at Target. I wore a size Small but they went from Extra Small to Extra Large (if I'm remembering correctly) and were reasonably priced. I think the support is good in them. I did NOT like the nursing tanks from Mimi Maternity -- they were sooooo low cut I felt indecent and not well supported. Good luck!
