I am hosting a Halloween party and am in need of some fun recipes. There will be approximately 20 people there both kids and adults. I've seen a bunch of snack ideas but not many meal ideas. I welcome all recipes, from drinks to meal! Thanks in advance!!

What can I do next?

I hosted a kids' halloween party last week. I got this idea from a magazine & everyone loved it....carve jack o'lanterns out of oranges! Thinly slice the bottom so it stands upright, slice the top so you can remove the pulp (this is messy, but maybe you can use it all to make orange juice). Then carve the faces & fill with chopped apples & grapes. It made such a great presentation!

Great snack and adorable centerpiece.

1. carve a pumpkin or draw a face on it with magic markers/paint pens.

2. thread kabob sticks with cherries, cubed cheese, rolled turkey slices, grapes, strawberries...

3. stick the kabobs all over the top of the pumpkin for crazy hair.

Crockpot chilli is a good idea for more of a meal. Serve with a basket of rolls and shredded cheese.

We usually do chili and hot dogs. I do a spicier version for the adults and non spicy for kids/adults. I just throw the hot dogs right in the chili to warm. I also like to serve corn bread. I buy Jiffy corn bread mixes. I bake some regular and some I add jalapenos to the batter - the guys love it!!! I also like a nice fruit/veggie tray.

I make a Pizza Worm (or snake), which is refrigerated french bread loaf dough, or pizza dough, pizza sauce and fave toppings rolled up inside. Curve it into an S shape. Egg wash the outside, and you can add food color to the wash to paint stripes or whatever on the worm/snake. Black olive slices for eyes. I even had this published in Taste of Home mag a couple years ago in one of their Halloween editions. It's easy and customizable, not too gross presentation-wise, either. You can serve hot wings with it and call them Bat Wings. Sometimes all food needs is a spooky name to dress it up for the holiday. Have fun!

I just found on a website strawberry ghosts--dip strawberries in melted white chocolate (add a little shortening) and then they put mini chocolate chips on them for eyes and melt a little semi-sweet chocolate to write a mouth in the shape of an "O". To get the right consistency for the white choc for dipping, use Baker's or Ghirardelli baking bars--no chips.

Martha Stewart has a good recipe for "Ghoulash" which I have made but can't find right now! It is a beef goulash with sour cream. I've seen cute pictures of hot dogs wrapped in crescent dough to look like mummies (dough wrapped all around the hot dog leaving a "face" open).
Call anything by a halloween name!

Goodness gracious - here's one for you - some of them are REALLY GROSS, (http://www.divinedinnerparty.com/halloween-food.html) - I googled "adult halloween party meal ideas" and this site came up. Holy COW! They have some seriously gross looking stuff but it's just creatively done regular food. They also have links for drinks, etc. I didn't click on the other links that came up, but you should be able to find a few good recipes. The mini-sausage fake fingers are impressive :) The dirty diaper dip is pretty funny even though it's unbelievably GROSS presentation wise. Enjoy!

Mud Pie
- buy instant choc. pudding mix
- buy oreos (you will crumble these)
- buy gummy worms
Scoop pudding in clear plastic cups then top with crumbled oreos and put some worms on top. It looks like mud dirt and worms. Kids love them:)

an easy go to Halloween party treat for kids is Cat box cake. You buy a new small cat box and cat box scoop. Fill it with rice crispie treat cereal, or make rice crispie treats and do not pat it inot the pan, make little peices of rice crispie treats. Buy tootsie rools of all sizes and un wrap at few dozen and form them into "poops." You can put the long skinny ones in the microwave for a few seconds and form them into swirls, and make a few hang off the side of the box like the cat missed. Get a tube of yellow icing and put dollops of it all through the box. Use the scoop to serve. It is a huge hit.

Another one I like that is easy is to buy ranch dip, color it green, and put spider rings on carrot and cellery sticks.
