Halloween Party - Celina, TX

My husband mentioned to me the other day that he would like us to throw a halloween/costume party for adults. Okay, let me confess, I can throw a children's party, but when it comes to adults... Well, lets just say it doesn't happen very often. So, any suggestions, ideas, recipes, ANYTHING would be greatly appreciated! I think it would be fun, and I'm really excited, but I don't want to spend a fortune for a halloween party.
Drinks, food, decorations, just a good time for all the parents to get out and have fun! I just don't know where to start!

Thank you so much!
E.

I got a great dip recipe out of a magazine for a halloween party. I make it year round though as it is now one of my family's favorites.
Queso Fundido
one jar salsa ( I use On the Border Medium)
one 16 oz package cheddar jack cheese, finely shredded
one small can sliced olives
Mix the salsa and cheese together in a pie plate or shallow serving dish. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 25 min. Sprinkle olives on top before serving. Serve with tortilla chips.

Hi E.,
I throw a halloween party every year and it is a lot of fun.
Sometimes I make the invites and sometimes I use e-vite, just make sure to write down: Wear a costume!. I cover the furniture with inexpensive black fabric, put some candelabras around the house, black lites, and I "stage" a room with creepy decorations and I make sure to take a picture of the couples in that room. If you can print them right there it makes for a great "goodie bag" or just send them later by e-mail.
You will find a bunch of recipes for good food online. Have a cool drink and you are set.
Don't sweat over it...most adults just want to have a good time and Halloween is a great excuse.

Good Luck!

A.

Replace all of your lamp bulbs with 'black lights' and only use that for lighting; it'll help set the mood. Plastic spiders in a bowl of punch....just for fun! Or, make ice in ice cube trays and put a little plastic spider in each cube as it freezes. Have a prize for best couple (ie: nun/priest; Lucy/Desi; etc.) and for best all-around costume. The prize can be cheap....it can be anything!

I know this sounds gross but it is actually a tasty recipe and always is a conversation piece...kitty litter cake. You would need to of course buy a new cat box without a lid and a litter sifter to make it look the most realistic. Here is one recipe I have seen but I know there are more out there. Hope the party turns out great.

E.,
Hello, My sister throw a birthday party for my brother-in-law because it's his birthday on Halloween.
she uses pumpkins and craves out the inside uses them for punch bowls, she gets a plastic latex glove and fills it with water and freezes the hand and has it floating in the punch bowl. She changes all the light bulbs, she has spider webs all over, with creepy music. She has jello shots with plastic flies in them.
Serves all kinds of funky foods like popcorn balls and sandwiches to name a few
She has crows and bats all over the house.

Hope this helps,
A.
