I know it's a little early but I would like to make my kids costumes this year if possible. My son will be three by halloween, but still doesn't care about making choices for himself so I'm stuck deciding what he will be. I know next year that will not be the case so I thought it would be fun to dress him and my daughter matching somehow, she will be 10 months by halloween. The only thing I can even think of so far is Peter Pan and tinker bell or possibly a farmer and a cow or something like that, although I'm not sure I actually like those. Anyone else have ideas?
The three little pigs and the Big, Bad wolf?
Goldilocks and the three bears?
The three billy goats Gruff and the Troll?
Alice in Wonderland, Cheshire Cat, March Hair and Mad Hatter?
Little Red Riding hood, Granny, Wolf, and Hunter?
(Since you're starting early... lol!) Have fun!!!

Hi T.-
They sound the ideal age for the pirate routine. No masked- just face make-up and a costume. They'll love it! S.

I dressed my 2yr old as a Rodeo Cowboy (complete with a number on his back!) and my 6 month old as a Rodeo Clown- I made his existing overalls with patches a bulls-eye on his rear pocket kerchief round his neck etc. If you want photos, email me at ____@____.com My boys are now 4 and 6 and want to be a dragon (my 6 year old wants to "be the butt!") Ha ha ha - Don't cha just love the toilet humor? Personally, I think they would be a bipolar dragon with much inner conflict if ya know what I mean...

Hi T.!
familyfun.com many GREAT ideas...check it out! :-)
One year my kids were M&M's. The older one was a bag of M&M's (made with brown felt) and the younger one was a single red M&M...
Use your imagination! You can do ANYTHING!!
Ducks are a cute idea too. Get a white sweat suit and glue white feathers all over it, then use yellow rubber kitchen gloves for the feet...and a white baseball cap for the head...you can paint the visor orange and glue big googly eyes on it...
Have fun!!

I have made several (no sew) Halloween costumes for my two girls. I get great ideas from the Family Fun magazine & website ( www.familyfun.com). People think I'm really crafty, but it's just good ideas from that magazine. My girls were both pizza slices one year. Check out the website ! Or, dog & cat?

My daughter wants to be Peter Pan and she wants her sister and all her friends to be characters in the movie. If you find a good costume or a good pattern I would love that info. Thanks for your help. The only other idea I have is Raggedy Ann and Andy. If you have a big doll your daughter could wear her clothes. Thanks!-A.

My sister-in-law is very crafty - she did hers son and daughter as Oscar the grouch and Slimey the worm last year, has done Shrek and the princess, a farmer and a pea pod (when the youngest was a baby), and has done her son and a neighbor girl as bride and groom - all very cute. I used to do cowboys, chefs, wizards and the grim reaper for my boys. Have fun - you are starting early enough to do some good ideas.

Check out potterybarnkids.com and then halloween costumes. They are really pricey but you could get some great ideas. How about a burger and fries? Both of those are on the site and you could make them out of felt pretty easily. I think that would be adorable and more creative than something Disney. I love halloween, have 3 munchkins of my own to dress up, can't wait!

Yes! I'm not the only one who does the matching costumes! For the record, my oldest is 7 this year, and I've gotten away with it every year so far :) Don't think this could be it for ya! I have 3 little boys, 7, 5 and 2. Let's see if I can remember 6 years of costumes...
1st - Baseball player
2nd - Dinosaur
3rd <Enter Baby #2 and Let the Matching Begin!> - Our oldest was a lion and the baby was a tiger, and Mommy and Daddy wore little name tags that said Zoo Keeper and Cat Trainer.
4th - Peter Pan and Captain Hook. Daddy was a pirate and Mommy was Tinkerbell.
5th - Eeyore and Pooh Bear. Mommy was very pregnant and had made a shirt that said Kanga at the top and Roo on the belly. Couldn't get Daddy to play...do you blame him?!
6th - Traditional costumes - a skeleton, ghost and pumpkin
7th - Superman - I was trying for a theme here of everyone being a different superhero, but the oldest two both wanted Superman, so we all went with that.
Haven't even started thinking about this year yet!
You could do absolutely any Disney movie - they all revolve around one male and one female main character. I think it's easiest to figure out one costume (btw-your son is old enough to have some say I'd think, he knows what he likes) then figure out how to tie in a second. Let us know what you come up with!

My brother and I were raggedy Ann and Andy when we were little. Our hair was made out of red crape paper strips. Or how about a flower and a bee? I don't think it's too early especially if you want to make the costumes, good luck!
