Hi y'all!
Ok here is my question! My baby can dress up at school on halloween because they are having fairy tale/fable day. The outfit will need to be practical since she will wear it all day so I need suggestions! We could go the princess, Cinderella route but my princess has a go get em style to her :) we have a real cute pirate costume but are there any tales with pirates? Any ideas for her? I thought of one of the 3 little pigs but its not practical to have wear a snout all day :)
Thank ya!
H.

If she has a long nightgown she can be Wendy (Peter Pan) or Clara (nutcracker)
A blue dress, apron, black headband = Alice (in wonderland) or no headband but braids = Dorothy (Wizard of oz) or plus red hood = little red riding hood

Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean is a tale that comes quickly to mind for a pirate costume.

Fairy tale costumes:

A dragon (look for PJs that look like a dinosaur or dragon or put spikes and a tail on a hoodie)

A princess

A pig, without the snout. Just do a light pink outfit and give her pig ears and a little pig tail

A goat (Billy goats gruff)

A bear or Goldilocks

A hen (The Little Red Hen)

A gingerbread girl (You can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man!) - this could be as easy as brown mittens, and a brown set of pjs or sweatsuit with buttons on the front and a dab of black makeup on her nose.

Red Riding Hood (cute dress with a red cape)

Does it have to be a fairy tale or can it be a story character? There's a kick-butt princess in the Dealing With Dragons series.

Red riding hood, Alice in wonderland, both just require a simple dress. Good luck

Little Red Riding Hood?

She can be Captain Hook's daughter.

What about the princess from Brave...princess from a fairytale but with the "go get em style" (I have one of those too by the way).

My daughter is going to be Arrietty from the Borrowers but she can't dress up for school.

I was going to suggest Wendy from peter pan also - a few ringlets and a nightgown:)

if she is a pirate, send her with david shannon's book, "my life as a pirate" cute - lead is a boy, but bit whoop:)

Ok, I loved Aesop's Fables growing up. She could be a wolf from Peter and the Wolf or the mouse from the mouse and the lion with a little face paint and a well color coordinated sweat suit.

Good luck - this is a fun one:)

Are you familiar with the Paper Bag Princess, by Munsch? (If not, it's a great story every little girl - and mom, for that matter - should read. The princess has to go rescue the prince, who has been carried off by a dragon. But when the dragon tore down the castle, he burned all of her fancy clothes, so all she had to wear was a paper bag.) You could probably get flesh-colored clothes, and make her a "dress" out of brown craft paper to wear over it.

There's always the pirates from Peter Pan.

She could be Alice's White Rabbit.

In a pinch, you could put her in whatever clothes she likes, and find her a stuffed white lamb to carry around. (As in, Mary Had A...)

Bo Peep (a sheep pin or applique will work)
Little Miss Muffet (spider pin or applique)
Gretel - she can say she's looking for Hansel but the bread crumbs are gone.
