Hi Mom's

I am trying to become more environment conscious and want to know what green cleaning products you really like, and really think are effective. Specifically for the bathroom and kitchen. I am slowly replacing products as I run out, and I really love my clorox clean up. Do any of you use something that you think does a really good job, without you having to do more scrubbing and back breaking???
Thanks again!

What can I do next?

The best green cleaning products I have found are baking soda and viniger. You can google it and find all the cleaning uses and how much. If you make a spray bottle of it and keep that it's great.

S., I use Melaleuca products (since 2007). The company is a wellness company and I love their products. I switched to them in an attempt to be more ecoconscious and to get rid of the chemicals in my home. Well...now I do not like anything else. I love the laundry detergent, bathroom cleaner, and dish soap. I love the lotion, multi-purpose cleaner and body soap. Where do I begin?!!?! They do not advertise...just word of mouth so you may not have heard of them but I promise you...you will NOT be disappointed. If you are interested, send me an email and I will pass your name and number on to someone so you can learn more! Good for you to get rid of the chemicals! You will feel better physically and probably emotionally knowing you are doing your part for the environment.

There is always the old favorites...vinegar and baking soda. They work well too!

Take care and good luck! A.

S.,

You can make your own green products. I've started using 3/4 cup of vinegar, 30 drops of an essential oil, and water in a spray bottle. You can also add baking soda to the mix.

I'm currently using rosemary and peppermimt essential oils in the kitchen and around the house. Smells YUMMY! I use Tea Trea Oil in the laundry. I have Sweet Orange and Eucalyptus on order and should be receiving them soon. Rosemary is naturally antibacterial, as is the sweet orange, I believe. Peppermint and eucalyptus are repellent to creepy crawlies.

A friend gave me a great book a few years ago called "Green Clean" by Hunter and Halpin; it has recipes for cleaners for all tasks, and my favorite is the all-purpose cleaner recipe for the kitchen. It's a combination of castille soap and washing soda that gets grease off surfaces far better than any chemical cleaner I'd used before. It's also nice that I can just make more (doesn't take more than a couple minutes) whenever I run out. Have fun!
