Though no one wants their kids to EVER be sick, please keep in mind that getting a mild illness now and then is a GOOD thing because it builds up a body's immunities. You wouldn't want your kids to be sick for the first time when they hit kindergarten because their bodies wouldn't know how to fight it off and a mild cold would be way worse.
I'm sure you will get tons of answers about "green" products you can go out and buy, but I make my own and save soooooooo much money. Here is a great website to get you started

I use the recipe on that site where you mix Borax, vinegar, and hot water-- I think the hot water just helps the borax disolve because it works just as good once it cools down. I also add a couple of squirts of liquid soap and a couple of drops of peppermint essential oil so my house doesn't smell like vinegar. Either way, neither the vinegar nor peppermint smell lasts more than a few minutes anyway. I make this mixture in a spray bottle and use it for everything. I use it in the kitchen and bathrooms daily.
Also, for deep cleaning I don't measure these ingredients: get a plastic cup and fill it about one third of the way with baking soda. Then slowly pour in vinegar. Do this over the sink because it will erupt! When the fizzling settles, stir and you have a soft scrub that will easily eat up the most caked on dried toothpaste or whatever has dried on your countertops. If I don't use it all up in one use, I let it dry out and then just add water to it the next time I need it.
As for getting your family "well and healthy"... I'm sure I won't be popular for sayiing this but I swear the people I know who seem to have the sickest families who keep passing around illnesses are ones who do the all-natural, all-organic route. I'm not saying everyone who does that gets and stays sick, but it's suspicious to me.
