Look for a montessori program. I know there are some in Arlington. They are usually great. My daughter went to a Montessori school thru 6th grade and it was great.
Hello. I am relocating to Grand Prairie and am looking for a great Pre-K program in the Arlington,Grand Prairie/Mansfield area. Any suggestions?

We live in Grand Prairie but my son goes to Lighthouse Christian Academy (Loop 12/Spur 408 & Mountain Creek Pkwy). It's a Dallas address but not far from Grand Prairie (depending on what part of Grand Prairie). We looked at a lot of programs (religious and non-religious) in the Arlington, GP, Mansfield, Duncanville & Cedar Hill areas. Based on the costs and locations, we went with LCA and have been very happy with the school and teachers. The Pre-K tuition is $4800 year (Aug-May) and they have summer camp for $90/week. The Pre-K tuition also includes after school care. Let me know if you'd like more information. Good luck to you!
I live in Mansfield but very near the GP border. The previous poster was right about the schools. My daughter is in 1st and is doing great! She is reading at a 2nd or 3rd grade level already. She went to Pre-K at Primrose School of Grand Peninsula. Our son is currently in Pre-K there also. It is not cheap, but worth the money. I pay $200 a week for Pre-K. It's a daycare/private school (they only do Pre-K and Kinder for private school). It is in GP city limits, but Mansfield school district. My daughter goes there after school now. It's right by Joe Pool Lake, which is a pretty nice area. Let me know if you have any questions.
My daughter goes to pre-K at St. John Lutheran preschool in Mansfield: http://stjohnmansfield.org/#/preschool. I looked at Primrose and several other non-religious programs, including Montessori programs, but I thought they were just too expensive. I'm a stay-at-home mom so I like the cost and flexibility of some of the church programs. My daughter goes 3 days a week from 9am-2:30 and we pay a little over $200 a month. I'm very happy with the teachers, the structure, the programs, everything. They have 2 or 5-day programs as well and they have Xtra care too if you work and need extended hours.
There are a couple differant lifestyles to choose from within those 3 places. Grand Prairie is very country. We are right between Dallas and FT Worth - exactly half way to each downtown. But our school system is not very good. My kids go to public school and they are nice people, but the standards are lower and they are behind Mansfield by quite a bit. Mansfield ispart country and part new development. There is a whole lot more money, so the public schools are state of the art, beautiful, with the best technocolgy. South Arlington is like Mansfiled, but more city and more busy. I would think about what your long term plan is before relocating. It would not be good to go pre-k and kinder in GP and then move to Mansfiled. Your child would be a yr behind at least. All 3 are fine if you are south of 20. You also have to consider property tax if you plan on buying a house. Property tax in Mansfield is sky high topay for those state of the art schools. GP is Dallas County Taxes, Arlington and Mansfield are Tarrant County. There is a section in S Arlington that goes to Mansfiled schools. I think it's south of Sublett.
