Good Shoes - Boca Raton,FL

I have to wear shoes with good arch supports or my feet are killing me. I have been dealing with heal spurs and plantar fascitis (probably spelled wrong) for years. I used to wear mephistos ($200 a pair) but found the brand moszkito ($60 a pair) has a high arch support and wedge in a flip flop style that has really helped tremendously. I live in florida so I am always wearing these shoes but they only come in one style. I have them in black, brown, and red and have already replaced the black ones a few times over the years since they get worn the most. I am really looking for another style of shoe to wear other than a sneaker or the moszkitos. As of now these are my only options. If I wear another shoe for even one day, my heal spur starts hurting and it takes months for the pain to go away. BTW been to podiatrist and have done the orthotics, cortizone shots, and oral steroids and none have helped except my $60 moszkitos. Anyone have another shoe they can recommend with a good arch support that is not a flat shoe?

I love Fitflop brand. I have their sandals and a pair of winter slide-ons and love them both equally! I have terrible problems with my feet as well, and this is the only brand I have loved for the entire time I've owned them.

I have bad feet too that limits the styles of shoes I can wear. Can you have inserts made for other types of shoes? I have to do that along with steroids, but I hate taking those, so I don't. Moszkitos does sale arch supports you can place in other shoes:

Also, I know this isn't the same answer, but you can buy or make shoe clips to add to your shoes at least for something fun or stylish.

How much support are you looking for? I have a hard time with super flat. I love my Fitflops because of the shock absorbency. They have good arch support, and I recently learned that they've expanded their styles, beyond the thong.

Dansko's are awesome shoes with great support. I have plantar fasciitis and these are the only shoes other than sneakers that I can truly wear walking around all day without pain, and they're stylish and last years. I've had a pair of brown clogs with the closed back for years and they haven't worn out. I also bought a black pair and a pair of wedge sandal clogs for summer. They're not a flat shoe which I like because they give me some height. They also carry a seal of acceptance from the American Podiatry Association ?? They run about 100.00 a pair so while they're not cheap, they last and are very comfortable...so well worth it.

Dansko's are the best shoes in the world. I love the way my feet feel in them. I can run in them, walk for miles, or just stand around cooking.

Have you tried the Teva flip flops with the foam footbed? They aren't too expensive, $25 - $50 a pair depending on the style. I too have bought Mephistos for the exact same reason, and I love everything about them but the cost. The Tevas are a good alternative and I like that they weigh alot less then my mephistos. The foam footbed starts out with a decent arch support but the more you wear them, the more they mold to your foot. I find them to be extemely comfotable and wear them constantly. Plus they have a wide range of colors and styles, perfect for Florida weather.
