Good Exercise Shoes That Come in Wide

Hi Moms,

I just bought some very much needed new work out shoes. They (Puma) felt good in the store, but when I worked out today, they felt tight (I am usually a size 8, but size 9 fit me so I got a 9). So the length was fine, but it felt too narrow. I have a wide foot, and these Puma shoes are not wide. I am annoyed b/c now I need to buy another pair of shoes. Does anyone know of a good brand of work out shoes that come in a wide? Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi,
I have a very wide toe box and a "normal" heel....I have always had great luck with New Balance...several of their models of shoes come in wide widths. They give me plenty of room around the front of my foot, but because they have the "heel lock" system in the laces, my heel always sits in snugly as well. I have had some luck with Nike, but they do not have quite the selection of "wide" shoes. I have also had some luck with Asics, but there again, not as much as with New Balance.

ALSO, if you check out Road Runner Sports on line...they have a membership club that will allow you to return shoes even after you have worn them...I don't remember for sure the return policies because I haven't returned shoes to them in so long. But check them out...they also have "fit" consultants you can talk to who can help you in selecting the right shoe for you.

Good Luck, hope you find the shoe that works for you!

New Balance are notorious for selling WIDE shoes. That's the only brand sneaker I can get onto my wide flipper feet. If the ones they sell on the shelf aren't wide enough, you can actually get most stores to order double wide from them.

I wear Merrell shoes. Love them. They are so comfortable. I buy mine at Dillards. They aren't sold in most places. Love them!

it was a good idea to get one size up as well.

if you only worked out once in them, they should take them back with a reciept.
