We just bought a car for my son and I need to have it seen by a good & honest mechanic just for an overall check up. We bought it from my cousin dirt cheap but I still think we need to have it checked over. We live in SE Mesa, so close to the house would be ideal but honesty is most important.

Brian Slaughter (Slaughter Automotive) -- he did work for me that cost only $600 when other's wanted to charge me $1200. My inlaws drive from Scottsdale to this guy because he's so fair and honest. I don't have his number on me...I'll send it tonight. If I forget, send me a message. He's awesom and won't do work that you don't need done. He's off Chandler Blvd just west of Kyrene. I little drive but so worth it.
Motortek 1833 W Main in Mesa. ###-###-####. The owner John is my neighbor and he is a very honest guy. He will tell you straight up what is wrong and what needs to be fixed immediately (safety) and what can wait a few months or a year. He says he isn't the cheapest shop because he uses quality parts, but the work is good. Tell him his neighbors Bob and W. sent you and he'll take great care of you.
