I always feed our son what we ate, within reason. Small children can eat pureed food but soon or later have to get switched to some solid foods. I found it easier to not puree his food but mash it or cut it up at the table and avoid foods that were just to hard to for him to eat. You have to also be very careful not to over season any foods your son will be eating.
I really would not get into making a lot of different meals just for your son. If you are that worried stay with stage 3 foods for a while long till you feel more comfortable.
At 10 months old he can eat veggie, fruits, and some meats just as you do. Finger foods like cooked carrots, hot dogs, green beans, chunks of melon are lots of fun for them. Also check out websites for fun ideas but don't change your whole life.
