What is a good, inexpensive gift for a high school grad boy?
Also, friend's 4 kids in town this week. I have presents for the girls but what can I get for a 14 year old boy and a 17 1/2 year old boy? Eek? Help. Gifts need to be very inexpensive.
Thx mamas.
Boys like money or gift cards. That is what I have given to my male cousins when they graduated highschool. Other ideas might include anything that he might need if going away to college- drywipe/cork board, planner, shot glass :), hot plate, etc.
For the other two boys, I would go with a gift card to best buy, sears, or even the movies.

I don't' know what your idea of inexpensive is, mine is $10 or less, so I would get the iTunes gift cards or Best Buy gift cards. It's the thought that counts, not the price.

Oh good idea Victoria, I second the Best Buy gift cards for $10, use it towards a cd or whatever... also maybe a Borders gift card :-) Boys are much harder to buy for than girls... good luck!

H.S. graduation: gas gift card or other gift card seem to be the standard.
BUT I hate gift cards, so I prefer a more personalized touch....a cool tshirt, a preferred hat, an all-purpose tool (like a Leatherman), & I've also been known to put together a survival kit! This does not fall into the inexpensive category....sorry! The kit contains: scissors, stapler, can opener, tape, envelopes, pens/pencils, sharpener, pads of paper, disposable paper goods, etc. I use a plastic storage tub with lid to hold all of it.....& I tape 2 pennies to the top with a little paper saying, "here's 2 pennies so you'll always have some common (s)cents(e)". It always gets a laugh from the adults!
& for that 14yo: any of the above will work. My 14yo also loves the older comic books, car/gaming magazines, etc.

For HS graduation gifts, I buy canvas laundry bags, monogram them (I have an embroidery machine) and then add a roll of quarters, laundry detergent, dryer sheets, spot remover, lint roller and some hangars. For girls, I also add a lingere bag. Not always sure that the kids appreciate the gift, but the mom's love it. It usually runs about $25. (I always buy the dye and fragrence free/non allergenic detergent and dryer sheets.)

I'd go with the iTUNES gift card or an amazon.com gift card. You can buy "APS" with the iTUNES card, not just music.

If the graduating boy is going to college, then really helpful gifts would be a collapsible laundry hamper and a couple of towels, XL Twin Sheets, pillow and pillowcases, a good LCD desklamp or a memo/whiteboard with dry erase markers. All of these will be useful items for his dorm room.

Like all the other posts, I would buy iTunes or Amazon gift cards. With Amazon, they can also buy movies and books and even clothes and school supplies.
You can buy iTunes cards at a discount at places like Sam's Club and Costco. They come in packs with 3 gift cards and you get a few dollars off the face value.
Gift cards aren't the most personal gift around but the kids certainly love getting them.

Gift cards or money. You can send whatever amout you like.
I had a HS graduate send an inviatation to me. His mom is my 1st cousin and I've not seen that part of the family in over 15 yrs. Don't know how they got my address to send me an "invoice". I sent a nice card and $25.
For mydear nephew who excels and we are close to... he got $500 and we did not receive an "invoice" from him.
