I was wondering what amount of money would be appropriate for 2 very close family friends that just graduated high school. One is a boy and one is a girl. I was hoping to buy her a pendant and him a watch at Ross but didn't find anything. Their parties are tonight...they are not related fyi

What can I do next?

I would give them the equivalent in what you would have spent at Ross for them in either cash or a gift card (Borders, Taco Bell, In N Out, or ITunes are great choices).

I usually make a candy lei for graduates that we know and attach $20 or $50 depending on how close we are to them.

My favorite gift to give is a "bathroom bucket". I go to Walmart and get a cleaning tote - they are around $2. Then I get a towel and a washcloth. I get some hand soap, a toothbrush, a cup, and any other bathroom type things that they might have. The whole thing costs around $15.

YMMV

I think it depends on your income. My family doesnt make that much and we dont really spend alot when it comes to gifts. But for graduation most people in my family take what they would give the person for their bday and doubles it

My daughter just graduated and she's going to college. So she really appreciated Target & Bed Bath Beyond gift cards. She also enjoyed getting iTunes gift cards. And cash is always needed and appreciated!

We gave cash a $20 and a $10 to signify 2010 to the graduates we know!

I have given $50 Mastercard or Visa cift cards to nephews graduating from HS. They come in other denominations too, I think $25 is the minimum Young people like that they can use them like credit cards and get anything they want or use at a restaurant too. If they are bound for college you might also consider a gc from Target if you have one close by, this way they can use it to get stuff they will need for college. I think they would like either one.

I don't know if I'm too late but I always go to Things Remembered in the mall. They always have cute necklaces or money clips or picture frames that you can have engraved and I usually get out of there for under $25 per gift.

I would either give money or a gift card. I know my daughter probably wouldn't want a pendant, but that's just her. Most girls don't wear those. Kids seem to like money best. At least $25, but if you can afford it, $50 each. Good luck!

Hi,
I recently had a couple of my friends kids graduate and I went to Borders and bought "1001 Things Every College Student Needs to Know" (or something similar) and tucked a $15 iTunes card in it.
