Hi all!

New here to the gift-giving etiquette for teachers so I'm open to suggestions.

DD's preschool ends next week. She was there six months and has absolutely blossomed! She may or may not return depending on my work/lack of work situation in September. I also found a school for less money and closer to home. Hard call.

In the meantime, I would like to do something nice for the teachers so I'm thinking of an Edible Arrangements delivery on the last day. Or should I give the main teacher a separate gift? I don't really know her that well but do know that multiple teachers are involved.

Thoughts?

What can I do next?

It's so kind that you want to do something.... I think the Edible Arrangement is fine. If you do want to do a separate small gift for the lead teacher, do consider a gift card to a booksellers for a modest amount, like $15 or so. Preschool teachers are underpaid and we are always looking for new books to read in class or for ourselves. THAT would be a nice treat.

Teachers love gift cards with a nice handwritten note. No lotions, perfume etc. they get tons of it. My teacher friends give me bags of this stuff twice a year for the nursing home patients. No mugs either. Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks works well.

My guy is finishing preschool next week as well, and his teachers and aide got him through a rough year, we lost my Dad before he started, my Mom in November. So I am so grateful and thankful for all they've done with him and how they helped him.

I'm not a traditionalist with gift giving, I like to make gifts fun and make them myself. I found an idea and am making it my own, taking the items and placing them in a child's sand pail and attaching a note card with an orange on it reading, "Orange you glad it's summer?" I'll write my thanks inside. I found everything pictured in the link, along with the blank notecards at Target, in the $1 Spot and around the store.
