Beyond a bonus, the best thing to get honestly is a heartfelt card thanking the teacher for everything that they do and adding specifics is the best!
I keep all of those cards! Love to read them over and over!
I'm at a lost as to what to get for my children's daycare providers. What do you get, how much do you spend????
I can't get something for every teacher because there are so many, but I usually just get something for everyone.
I don't want to get the same old stuff they get every year.
Thanks everyone for your input!!! Much appreciated

I like to give groups like this a breakfast treat. I schedule it for January so they will have something to look forward to. .
I like Einstein Bagels, cream cheese with coffee and Juice.
Usually schedules to go into work a little late that morning.
Or you could do Breakfast muffins with coffee and juice..
Get your child's teacher/ aide a nice 15$ gift card (maybe for gas?) a piece and buy the rest of the crew some good bagels and cream cheese.
I used to be a daycare teacher, and they get paid very poorly, especially when you think about how important their work is. Don't buy them gifts, buy them gift certificates. You could do it to a spa, to Target, to a department store, or to a local coffee shop.
If you want to, you could go in on gifts with a friend, so that the gift certificates could be bigger. If you can spend $50 on the lead teacher, I would, but $25 is fine too. Maybe $10-15 for the assistant(s)? I think a $5 card for the lead teacher is way too small.
How about a gift to the daycare center? They always would love some new toys or books, and the teachers will really appreciate it!! Make sure you let them know or write a card of how much you appreciate them, and that you wanted to bless the entire daycare with a few new things. They'll be thrilled! Merry Christmas!
If you want to get everyone something you could make it cheap:
A cool inexpensive pen
Bookmark
Chocolate bar w/a note of thanks & appreciation
Christmas ornament (inexpensive bulb) you write on w/a pretty silver pen a saying, fortune, sentiment etc.
I am an in home provider and get everything from a thank you card to a day at the spa. Any gesture of thanks is appreciated.
5 dollar starbucks card?
I'd do a $10 gift card to someplace like Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts, or Panera. Or just have lunch for everyone, like pizza and salad, or subs, delivered one day.
Is your child in a center or an in-home daycare?
We have an in-home provider and the "experts" say we should give them one week's pay - that's more than what I budget for gifts for each child! So - I give her a small gift, like an ornament or a candle and a crisp $100 bill. I know that she appreciates it because she has always very graciously thanked me.
Just do $5 gift cards to Starbucks.
$ 50 cash for each teacher (5 this year.... which is killing me!!! But I think they deserve it the most so.....) .... that way they can get what they want. there is only so much bath creams you can use in one life time!!!!
I'm big into the group gift form the whole 'class' .. that way you don't have to spend quite as much but the teacher gets a great gift (we usually do this at teh end of the school year and we do a spa card).
$20 gift card to Target or Walmart. If you use her full time, maybe $40. She doesn't need trinkets or food stuff. Let her use the money for person use. That's what I've always done. She told me she prefers gift cards to practical stores.
If you are looking for a group gift do an Edible Arrangements. They are always a big hit. It is good for a group.
I usually get her a $35 giftcard to a place I know she likes to eat at. Also a homemade card with the kid's picture on it.
This year it's a card, $35 giftcard, some homemade grape jelly.
I also usually give her a small plate with treats.
She is a home daycare provider so she's the only one there.
Can you maybe get some bagels for everyone like from Panera or Eistein Bagels along with a $5 Starbucks or Caribou card.
Offer to bring in Pizza for lunch one day in Jan. They will be thrilled at not having to pack a lunch that day. If that's too much $$$ just bring in sodas and juice once morning.
When we did in home care, we did one week of pay, but now in the center there are 5 teachers and well that is just not feasible. I did Target gift cards and an ornament for each. That seems to work well for us.
When I worked at day care the kids would bring in ornaments and I still put them on my tree, even though it has been 16 years since I worked there. Another thing I recieved from the kids were plates of homemade christmas cookies and goodies. Some would bring in a big tray for us to have there, others would give each of a small plate. I think anything you give will be appreciated.
I'm getting her teacher a $10 GC to Starbucks.
