Hi everyone,
So my little guy got sick in the car. We cleaned the seats and behind the seats, but I think that some stink lingers on the mat between the seat and the cushion underneath. How do I get it out so when we get in the car it doesnt stink. Thank you all in advance.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

thank you all for your wonderful advice. what i ended up doing was having it detailed with and again without the seat so that it was super clean, then i put a couple of cedar balls inbetween when we put the seat back.

try vinegar. Or vinegar mixed with baking soda.
I've used vinegar to clean up pee in our carpet... and it worked. The vinegar will smell for a while after...but then it dissipates and then the pee smell went away.

Or try doing a Google search to see what works.

Good luck!

My little girl got sick in my truck and we have had it detailed and I have scrubbed it clean myself and still smelly. But what just came to mind is perhaps placing a little cedar closet hanger in the car. Those things are suppose to absorb odors. Not sure it will work, but I think I will give it a try because after a year, I still smell it especially in the summer.

Scrub with baking soda and water. You can steam clean the mat. If worse comes to worse, by new floor mats.

Depending on type of car, you might be able to remove the seat so that you can get to the carpet underneath.
Check user manual, or just drive to nearest dealership and simply ask how to remove seat. (most vans, suvs and trucks you can do this).
Then get the cleaner that breaks down anything bio...try the one that kills the smell of cat pee...yeah, you'll need to go to the pet store.
Clean first, and then use the pet spray.
Should work.
Best of luck!
