S.,
When my daughter Savanah turned 2 I did a hot pink feathers and cowprint theme for her party. I found a story about a purple cow - but changed it to a pink cow and ran it through the cow print. Then I cut up small hot pink feather boas and sewed them on the top of the invitation. It really popped out when it was taken out of the envelope. Needless to say, it was a huge hit. I think it could be adjusted for a Diva Party. I don't have wording advice but the feathers could really dress up a simple invitation. I carried the feathers through the entire party theme by having some that people could wear and the cow print material different places. I found the material at Wal-mart and cut squares and then stuffed them in terra cotta pots. I put silverware and napkins in the pots. I also put the feathers around the bottom of the board the cake was on. Anyway, you get the picture. If you decide to do the invite - by the smallest feather boas you can find. I think I got mine at JoAnn's or Michaels. Then I made a big knot in my thread and just threaded it on the top of the invite. It takes a little bit of time but it is worth it.
There is a cake shop in Keller called Sweet Memories. (I think) right off 1709. I took my invitation to them and they did a custom cake for me. The cake was fabulous.
Let me know if you have any questions or need any help with the invitations. I am buried in work until next Tuesday but will have a little more time to brainstorm after that. I occasionally do birthday invites for my friends and neighbors. I am a freelance graphic designer and I work for myself from home. I don't advertise birthday invites as part of my graphic design business but I really enjoy doing them and it gives me a chance to use my creative juices in different ways. Annual reports and postcard campaigns get old after a while.
Feel free to email me if you find the wording but just need the type designed.
