L.S.
We have the old standard one and I basically only use it for grilling sandwiches or paninis. I've found that I can't seem to get the grilling of meat/chicken down to a science on it.
My husband just got me a George Foreman Grill for two. I have wanted one for awhile, but now I want some recipes.
Anybody have things they like to cook on grills like this? Come on moms (and dads) toss me some recipes and tips!
Thanks,
L.

My favorite thing to do on this (many years ago) was a good strip steak, and when it's a minute or so from being done, throw on some green pepper, tomato, and onion (dice them ahead of time) and let them grill for the last minute or so. Then I would take the steak off, scrape all the veggies down into the grease pan, and dump the whole grease pan, with veggies, back on the steak. Maybe that defeats the purpose, but it was OH SO DELICIOUS!!! Works great with a chicken breast, too.
The big thing with the George Foreman Grill is that unless you are cooking a naturally fatty meat like hamburger or bacon, you will need to marinate the meat or it will come out very dry. My first grill came with a video and a small cookbook, neither of which stressed this, so I had to learn it through trial and error.
We have a George Foreman grill and we usually do pretty basic stuff on it. We do hamburgers, turkey burgers, ham & cheese sandwiches (or any sandwich we want made like a panini), marinated chicken breasts and marinated pork chops.
My favorite is to just make plain old hambugers on it. Some seasoning and it is delicious.
I use mine mostly for bacon. I don't have a lot of space, so it's stored on a hard to get to shelf. I hate to drag the thing out for something I can grill outside, but it's worth it to not have bacon grease splattered everywhere.
We have the large family one. You can use it for the same things you would on any grill. We use ours for chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, steaks, pork chops, etc. Good luck!
The meat has to be fairly thin for it to work. Thick cuts of meat will burn on the outside and be cold on the inside. The perfect thing for this is boneless chicken tenders. I spray the grill with nonstick spray, season the tenders with whatever flavor I want that day and then onto the grill for a few minutes. They cook fast and are really good. Good to slice on top of a salad or into a wrap or just serve each person 3 or 4 on a plate with your sides.
Boneless, skinless fish filets works well also, but dont forget the nonstick spray.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE to do steaks and chicken breasts/cutlets. Wrap anything in bacon ;)
I like to use the steak meat to cut up for salads ... I like to use the chicken to shred or cut up for enchiladas or salads (chick salad or to top a salad). It is a time saver for almost any baking of meat or bbq grilling you will do I also throw on tilapia or mahi mahi.
