Does anyone know a local store that carries gentian violet? I couldn't find it at Central Market or Whole Foods; I've heard some drug stores or Wal-Mart might have it on occasion - I just was wondering if any of you mamas might be able to save us some time. :)
Try Herb Mart. There is one in Plano and Richardson, and another one that escapes my memory.

i know of a great store in mesquite called Herb Mart. they carry lots of great herbs and the prices are better then whole foods/central market. it's at the intersection of galloway and town east, same corner as auto zone and dusty attic. you might call ahead so you don't waste a trip, but even if they don't have it you should make a visit. you'll find tons of great healthy staples for less.
I bought some about a month ago at CVS. It was over in the section with the Hispanic branded stuff. Pretty cheap.
You can get it at Wal-Mart in the hispanic section. It's really inexpensive and it worked great for me.
