Gender Prediction Kit Test?? :)

Hey Mamas!
I was at walgreens the other day and happened across a gender prediction test. It claims 90% accuracy. Skeptical? Me too. It basically tests your urine and the color that your urine changes during the test should indicate boy or girl in ten minutes. I was just wondering.... have any of you tried this? Of course I'm not going to paint the nursery based on the result if I decide to do it... But it could be fun! Does anyone know how it actually works? Did it work for you or was it a total waste of money? Thanks! :)

What can I do next?

My doc told me that they are not accurate at all. Wait, they are 50% accurate---even the box says so. But seeing that you only have 2 choices, your own guess is as accurate as the test.

I would rather try the chinese calendars or old wives tales. They are free. Plus mine were both right. If you have the money and want to have a little fun do it.

It's supposed to test the levels of testosterone in your urine. I have two girlfriends that have used it. It was correct with both women. I have thought about it myself. I thought I would wait until after my ultrasound and see if the results match. I don't know if they are really 90% correct though. I have heard 80%, but it may be a fun thing to do anyway.

I think it's safe to say they're at least 50% accurate. But hey, I can match those odds....so if you have money lying around, send it to me and I'll give you a "prediction"!! ;-)

Hi L., I have two boys and pregnant with number three. My sister took the test, but she did it in the afternoon, not in the morning. It said girl and yesterday her ultrasound said girl. Well, I took one last week and it said boy and I followed the directions very carefully and did it in the morning like you're supposed to. I will find out if it was correct late October or early November. I am currently 12 weeks pregnant and I am desperately waiting for my girl but we'll see. I will preobably buy one more right before my ultrasound. For me, I don't trust it, but I do want to test it to see if there really is a way to tell the gender of your baby by peeing. LOL! Good luck and I hope you get what you want.

I have a friend who tried it, she was so excited because it said she was having a girl after 2 boys! The ultrasound confirmed it. Too bad they were BOTH wrong!

I don't know if the kits work...I agree with most of the posts it would be a waste of $ because you have a 50% chance of finding out. Here is a free via the internet gender predictor using the Chinese lunar calendar. It was wrong for me, but I think it has about a 90% accuracy rate (among my friends). http://www.thelaboroflove.com/chart/pred.html
