Our spring broke on our garage door and am looking for someone to repair. We have had one estimate for $200.00 but hoping to find a better deal. Any suggestions?

Our spring broke as well on our door. But my husband's dad fixed it when they came to visit. The spring itself was only $35.00. So if your husband or a friend is a handy man you could probably just get the part and do it yourself a lot cheaper. I believe my father-in-law just looked in the phone book for either a hardware store or garage door parts and repair place. Hope this helps. If you're like us $35.00 is a lot easier to swing than $200.
I used a company called Vantage Garage Door to install a garage door recently and was pleased with their pricing and service. I am assuming they do repairs also. I think they were based in Dallas but I do not know for sure.

Ours broke too and it was about $150. I think it depends on the kind of spring you have, because it looked very hard to do and a little dangerous when mine was installed.
I really liked the guy that did ours, he was in Lewisville, I think he was the only authorized Genie Repair shop, just off Main St. near Mill. I can hunt his name up if you want.
