If I have any kind of illness I go to www.earthclinic.com. It's a great home remedy website. You will also have testimonials if it worked for that person or not. They are all remedys that you can find around the house or local drugstore.

Good Luck

I know exactly what you are going through. I went through it when I was 20 and my sister just had her's removed 2 weeks ago after suffering horribly with it.
I have something that will help you to get rid of some of those stones while you are waiting for your surgery which will help you tremendously with the pain. The pain is caused by the stones moving through the duct work in your system.
I will tell you this the colder you keep this drink the better it will taste but it doesn't taste the greatest. But it does work and it's all natural. You should really do this twice 2 weeks apart but you don't have time to do the second round but this will help remove the ones at the front so you'll have some relief.
Ingredients: 4 Tblspoons Espom Salts
1/2 cup of Light Olive Oil
2/3- 3/4 cup Fresh (not canned) grapefruit juice. Meaning buy the whole fruit and squeeze the juice out of it.
1 Pint sized jar
Ornithine (found at the health food store) take 4-8 to help you sleep through the night.
Choose a day like Saturday, when you will have the next day to rest. Take NO medicines, vitamins or pills that you can do without, they could prevent success. Eat NO FAT breakfast and lunch. (Try cooked cereal with fruit, fruit juice, bread and jelly but no butter. No milk. Baked potatoe with steamed veggies with salt only no butter. This allows the bile to build up and develop pressure in the liver. Higher pressure pushes out more stones.
2:00pm on Saturday
DO NOT EAT OR DRINK AFTER 2:00pm, if you break this rule, you could feel quite ill later. Get your Epsom Salts ready by mixing them with 3 cups of water in jar is easiest. This will make 4 3/4 cup servings. Set the jar in the frig. to get it really cold. Remember the taste thing.
6:00pm on Saturday
Drink 1 serving size (3/4 cup) of the salt water mix. It's ok to drink a couple of mouthfuls of plain water after to rinse the taste out of your mouth. Get out your olive oil and grapefruit juice.
8:00pm on Saturday
Drink 1 serving size of the salt water mix. It's important to not be late on this time frame by more than 10 minutes.
Get your bedtime chores done now.
9:45pm on Saturday
Pour 1/2 cup olive oil into the pint sized jar. Squeeze the grapefruit juice into a measuring cup and remove pulp with a fork. You need to have at least 1/2 cup of juice or more up to 3/4 cup. Add this to the olive oil, close jar and shake shake shake it up. Then go to the bathroom and be ready to drink your mixture by 10:00pm.
10:00pm on Saturday
Drink the grapefruit/olive oil mixture. And take 4 of the ornithine tablets or more if you already suffer from insomnia but not more than 8. Note* Drinking this through a large straw helps it go down easier. You may use ketchup, cinnamon or brown sugar to chase it down between sips. Make sure you are standing up when you drink this all. Drink the entire amount in 5 minutes. Then Lie down immediately. The sooner you lie down the more stones you'll get out. You'll actually feel them moving through your system but it won't hurt because the bile ducts are open now thanks to the epsom salt. Now relax and go to sleep and let your body do all the work.
When you wake up take your 3rd does of the Espom salt mix if you notice you have indigestion or nausea wait until it is gone before drinking the salt mix. Now go back to bed and lie down. Important not to drink the salt mix before 6:00am Sunday.
2 hours later drink last dose of salt mix and lay back down.
After 2 more hours you may eat now, however start with fruit juice, 1/2 hour later eat some solid fruit. 1 hour later you may eat regular food, but keep it light. By dinner time you'll feel recovered.
Finally, expect diarrhea in the morning. The gallstones will float and should be pea green, as only bile from the liver is pea green. You may also notice Chaff floating on top of the water as well. Sometimes the bile ducts are full of cholesterol crystals that did not form into round stones. It should be tan in color. The harbor millions of tiny white crystals that are cholesterol. Cleansing the Chaff is just as important as purging stones.

This is really simple to do, taste blah but does work to help relieve some of your pain.
Good luck with your surgery and hope you get to have the laproscopic one instead of the traditional one I had to have 20 years ago. God speed on your recovery.

Hi M.,

I had my gallbladder removed 6 years ago after I had my second child. I had problems with them for 10 years before I had the surgery. The pain was horrible. After surgery you will be so suprised at how good you feel. I did not have alot of pain after surgery and was back to work in 5 days. I was also scared about the surgery but I had a great Doctor and he had alot of experience with these surgeries. While waiting for the surgery avoid all fried foods, dairy products and make sure you drink alot of water (room temperature water not cold water). Also, when I would have my attacks it helped if I sat up straight on the couch with a heating pad around my belly. It seemed to bother me more when I laid down so it might help you sleep better if you sleep with your upper body elevated. God Bless and Good Luck.

Hi M.,

I had my gallbladder out about 9 years ago. I remember how bad I felt. It got to the point that there not much I could do until the surgery. Try not to eat anything spicy. Drinking lots of water helped a little for me.

Once you recover fron surgery you will feel like a new person. I did not relize how bad I felt until after the surgery was dona nd I was better from that. It took me a week or two to recover. It was not too bad!

I hope this helps a little.

Hi M.,
I had by gallbladder removed back in October of last year, and I guess it might be different from gallbladder stones. But, after 4 months of not knowing what it was and waiting for appts w/the specialist, one day I couldn't take it and ended at the hospital. It was so bad that my liver enzymes were up to the roof, so I had to wait a day after the surgery to remove it, and the first day it was painfull and after that weeks later i was gassy but fine...so good luck! hope you feel better soon!

My gallbladder ruptured and I am lucky to be alive. Your pain and discomfort is probably caused by what you are eating: Dairy products, raw green vegetables ( lettuce, tomatoes, etc.), fried foods. Avoid all of these and you will feel fine until your surgery day. Nowadays, this type of surgery is not as bad as it used to be. I've had 14 different types of surgeries and my secret to coping and surviving them all has always been " Positive attitude and FAITH". In about 2 weeks after surgery, you will laughing at how worried you were. Good luck !

To minimize pain- avoid peppers, spicy, and greasy foods. Relief comes soon with the surgury.

Yes I had the surgery with the tiny cuts and then they pull out the gall bladder through the belly button.
WHen i got home i puked, but once i switched to different kind of pain med i was fine. Then I slept the rest of the day.
It was like the brick trap in my chest was gone and i could breathe again. I could eat what i wanted again once my stomach settled down again.

I could pick up my then 18month the next day, but for short periods. I recommend taking it easy for a week. NO long car trips planned i hope. I took a 6 hour mini vacation the sencond week after surgery and started to feel real pain.

The actual I dont remember but got the pics to prove it. Once they put the iv in i was out til after and my lip was swollen from bitting after they take the tube out.

I had my Gallbladder removed about 5 years ago due to inflammation and gallstones. I had to have emergency surgery because my flare-ups where so severe that I couldn’t wait. The surgery was laparoscopic (three little holes in my abdomen). I was in the hospital for 24 hours max and the day I went home I stopped at the mall first. I had minimal to no pain and was back to work the following Monday. I was terrified prior to my surgery, so being scared is normal. I hope everything works out for you the way it did for me, which was great. As for the pain right now, when I was going through it my Dr. told me that there is nothing they can do. The stone has to pass and then the pain is relieved. If you do go to the emergency room with the pain, they will most likely do the surgery immediately instead of putting you through a battery of tests. Good Luck and try not to be too scared.

I was very sick with gallstones when I was pregnant with my second child (He will be six in a couple weeks). Six weeks after he was born, I had my gallbladder removed. There really isn't anything you can take over the counter to help with the pain & discomfort. I would ask your doctor if he would be willing to give you something for the pain & to help you sleep. Once you have your gallbladder removed- you will feel so much better!! It takes a week or so to feel back to health 100%.

Don't be scared! The pain will go away and that will make all the difference in the world!!! I found that when I had gallbladder attacks motrin helped the best and staying away from dairy, but it is still not fun. I had my gallbladder out in December. After you have surgery drink warm apple juice to help with the gas and bloated feeling. A friend told me it helped him and it worked wonders for me. As far as what to expect - stay pretty medicated for the first 24-48 hours. That was the worst. My stomache felt so upset besides the pain of the incisions. I ended up with 3 separate cuts - very small. It all heals fast and after 3 days I was a million times better. The first 2 are a little rough with sitting up and down. You will take months to get bowel movements to be solid again. Greasy foods or any FAT will go right threw you after surgery - almost instantly. It takes some adjusting but it is so wonderful to not have the attacks!!! Good luck and don't be scared - it only gets better. :)

I had them while I was pregnant....NOT fun! BUT my health conscience OB was the only doctor who told me NO FAT. Fat is what causes the stones. In the next two weeks look for food with NO fat. Depending on how bad your gallbladder funtion is (mine was 0% by the tme I was able to have the surgery after my baby) even the slightest amount of fat will set off an attack. I even found fat free butter! I ate lots of oatmeal and chicken!! Good luck!! It's a good habit to get into anyway!! I promise it will work if you watch EVERYTHING you eat!

I'm a doctor (anesthesiolgist), and while I don't know of any instant relief other than pain medication, I can tell you not to be afraid of the surgery! Especially if they are using a laparoscope, which they probably are....the incisions are very small, and you will have gas pain after because they fill you up with air! But that is actually relieved by walking, and gets better after the first day or so. You will be amazed at how much better you feel just a couple of days after the surgery! And anesthesia these days is pretty safe. Let me know if you have any other questions i can answer for you. I wish you all the best!

Hi Michelle

I had my gallbladder removed nine and a half years ago, and I still sometimes get pains as if my gallbladder is still there. I don't believe surgery gets rid of the problem. Have you tried any alternative solutions perhaps a gallbladder flush. Or drinking lots of water to detox your system. Please if you can put off surgery for a while and do some more research, you should

I personally found that water helpes a lot…but also NO FAT…in any way shape or form…I stick to oatmeal, dry cereal, toast with a touch of jelly or banana, fruit (fresh cold smoothies yummy!), veggies, and grilled chicken every time mine acts up…usually after about 2-3 weeks I slowly start to incorporate more food back into my diet…I am the only person from my moms side of the family to still have mine, and I’m over 30. They had all had theirs removed by their mid 20’s, so I know I am on borrowed time…lol! But every time I go in for the tests they find NOTHING…with all the scans and stuff they do…I probably have a problem with it every 6-7 months now…Some days when the pain is unbearable I just want to walk into the hospital and beg for it to be removed…so count you blessings that someone saw something to recommend it being removed…enjoy fast food for me after your surgery! LOL!

Had the surgery two years ago and it was not bad at all. Are they doing it through your belly button? That is a cinch. Had minimal pain in the small incisions for about a day and was back to work, teaching swimming in 1 week. No problems at all. Don't worry, its not a bad operation. Cheri Chambers

I feel your pain. I suffered five years until finally surgery. unfortunately, I found nothing to help the pain. There is a medicine the doctor can give you to numb the area. Ask them about it, surely they know how much pain you're.

So painful it seems to last for ages! The pain associated with gallbladder stones are triggered by some foods, mainly fried and/or irritants like coffee, garlic or spices. Avoid these as much as u can and the inflamation they cause will subside. I'm no doctor but have had the pain. Don't worry about the surgery, whenever it is possible it is made with 3 small incisions and should be ambulatory. You'll be up and around in no time. We'll be praying for you. God bless.

Hello M.,

I had my gallbladder taken out about 8 years ago or so and I am sure things have changed since then. As far as the surgery, of course the bad part is coming out of the anesthesia and while I did not experience any "pain" at waking up point, when I got up to walk was a different story. Remember they do blow air into your abdomen to separate your organs from the abdominal wall and that's what I heard hurts the most after surgery, so my doctor adviced that I hold a regular sized bed pillow to my tummy (even at the hospital and while walking if necessary) to avoid the muscles from shifting too much due to gravity, for the first few days. I read someone in here went to the mall 24 hrs after surgery, but I don't think that is the norm. Anyways, hopefully you will be at home resting for a few days. It took about 4-5 days to be able to walk without the pillow, after that it was OK , one day at a time. The scars are minimum, I had the laparoscopic surgery so there were 3 very small incisions in my abdomen and one additional one right at the bottom of my belly button. As far as the pain pre-surgery, I used to take baths with different aromatherapy salts so that I could let my whole body really relax and just listen to the water running and then just concentrating on me floating in the water was very relaxing... also tylenol worked with the pain part. The surgery is a life saver, I waited till the last minuste so no scheduled surgery took place, rather it was an emergency room visit because I misunderstood my doctor, so you did right in scheduling it and getting it over with, the stones do not go away on their own. I heard some people can have one stone, others like me, hundreds!

Good luck and you will be fine!

Hi Michelle,

I don't know of any instant relief from the pain but I agree with Ada that there are things that exacerbate it. I would avoid those things she listed. I don't advocate surgery for many reasons but I don't know enough about your circumstances to scream "no", lol. What I do know is that if you don't change some things in your life they will come back and I know you don't want to do surgery twice.

Gallstones are a malabsorption problem that is caused primarily these days by all the processed foods we eat. There are other things as well but avoiding those things (processing, preservatives, antibiotics, hormones, all fast food) is a good place to start. Good nutrition is a must. I'll be glad to help if you'd like specific information.

M.
