Anyone Have Experience with Gallstones?

I am looking for info and advice from experienced moms about gallstones. I have not been to the doctor yet, but I am not looking forwrad to it. Sometimes what they tell you is so unhelpful! So I have been having random pains in my right side just below and under my ribs. It has been going on for a few weeks. Tonight the pains are a bit stronger, but not too bad, and are coming on with some frequency. Everything that I have read points to gallstones or a gallbladder attack. But perhaps I am overreacting, so I wanted to hear from some women who have actually experienced this. I know women are twice as likely as men to have this. Our chances are also increased if we are on hormones. It has been many months since I was taking birth control, but I have been on birth control for the past 12 years (excluding pregnancies and breastfeeding). I do have some problems with acid reflux, but my health is good. I would appreciate your input and experience with this subject.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you everyone for your help! I had no idea that gallstones were so common, and so many of you have experienced the pain. At least you are recovered now and so that is encouraging. I did go to the doctor this morning, so don't worry. He ordered an ultrasound (waiting for appt) and blood tests. I wish I knew right away what the diagnosis is, but I guess I will have to wait. In the meantime I may try to do a liver cleanse recommended to me by my acupuncturist (according to him the stones actually start in the liver). He says many people throughout the world do this once a year for good health. He has been great at listening and has so many years of experience. I have no problem trying the cleanse. I think I will start with the more natural approach to fix this, but if it seems to get worse you all have made me comfortable with getting the surgery. Thanks again!

Very simple answer. Go to the doctor promptly. All these facts and discussions do nothing to resolve anything. Sorry to be so blunt, but living with gallbladder problems can be dangerous and is extremely unpleasant. Professional help is the only real solution. Believe me, I've been there!!!

Can you try to change your diet a little bit (reduce fat and dairy) and drink alot more water and see what happens? - Rather than have it pulled out. Trust me, try to keep it if you can. You need your gall bladder. Mine was removed 9 years ago a few weeks after I had a baby. I had a major attack, and the doctors sqeezed me into the surgury schedule because I was in so much pain. The scanned it and said i had stones inside of it (everyone does!) but they never said I had one stuck in the duct. But I beleived they knew what they were talking about. As the surgery date approached, the pain was lessening. By the day of the surgery my pain was gone, but I went ahead with it anyway, afraid to cancel on them at the last moment and inconvienience them. What if the pain came back and then they wouldnt squeeze me in??
After my surgery I spoke with many people who had their gallbladders removed after pregnancy. I found out from a nurse that the pregnancy HORMONES will fluctuate and fall after delivery and can cause a gallbladder attack, but things go back to normal!! I wish someone had told me that before I had it yanked out. and I can't eat anything spicy or high in fat anymore or chronic diarrhea (sp?) sets in...the kind where you can't hold it. God forbid I should ever be in a highway jam. If I eat too much garlic, or spices, like on a steak, the meal will sit there undidgested (pain, pain, pain) and I have to force myself to throw it up for two hours.
I try not to let doctors yank anything out of my body anymore. God put every organ there for a specific purpose, our body is a delicately tuned machine that needs the other parts! It will compensate for a while but eventually, yanking a body part will take it's toll on your overall health. I think there are other options with most of these kinds of problems, but the doctors won't tell you that. That would mean they lose all those thousands of dollars on surgeries and would be out of a job.
oh yeah, another thing I want to add is that CHRONIC DEHYDRATION WILL CAUSE CHEST PAIN JUST LIKE A HEART ATTACK.
If you get chest area pain again try this simple test:
drink 2 large 16 oz glasses of water with a pinch of salt in them (sea salt is best)as quickly as you comfortably can. If your pain was due to dehydration, the pain will stop.

I had one major attack around christmas time about 4 years ago. I couldn't breathe, couldn't do much of anything really. It was a pain right under my ribcage. However, I just thought I had the stomach flu.
Then about 2 years later I had another attack. This time I was praying I would just die. It IS much worse than labor pains. I couldn't breathe, sit up, lay down, talk, walk, NOTHING! I also could barely move my right arm. That's anoter trigger sign. It was the middle of the night and so I hopped on Webmd and typed in my symptoms. It said gallbladder and to go to the ER. So I did... drove myself there.
They ran test after tests. I knew what it was but because I was with a crappy HMO they insisted it was something else. After all the tests the doctor told me it was my gallbladder but gave me no other suggestions as to how to treat other than removal. Now i know that there are different ways to treat.
The funny thing is that when I got home I was getting ready to start another pack of Pills and I just happened to flip through the warning booklets and by golly what should I see... gallbladder disease is a side effect. I will NOT EVER go back on the pill because it can also attach the other organs... I don't want to lose anything else.
Removing the gallbladder DOES NOT correct the underlying, systemic causes of gallstones, which are also risk factors for hypertension, obesity, diabetes, atherosclerosis, heart disease, heart attacks and strokes.
Some people swear by this recipe for removing the stones... I wish I had had time to try it before surgery. It can cause nausea and vomiting, but people say it's worth it.

I am the 2nd of 4 children in my family and right beofre my mother got pregnant with me, she had a gallbladder attack that put her into a short coma! She had to have hers removed. It has not seemed to have a negative effect on her as far as I can see. The only issue she seems to have is that no matter what she does, she consistently stays at 2 pounds over her "healthy weight." I think it is because of not having a gallbladder, but it is much prefered to being in a coma!

This reminds me that I should have mine examined too!

Good luck!

I got gallstones as a result of pregnancy with my twins. It felt like a constant heartburn right at the top of my stomach. I ended up having a camera (I forget the correct terminology) put down my throat to view my stomach. That wasn't bad, they put you out for that and you sleep through it. That ruled out ulcers. They then did an ultrasound and saw the gallstones. I had surgery to have my whole gall bladder removed. I know I am not covering everything so please let me know if you have any questions. This all took place for me about 3 yrs ago.

YES! I do NOT like going to the doctor, and going for something like this is much worse for me. I get freaked out and even start to cry a bit when I have to go get tests (like an endoscopy), or surgery. It's not a good scene.

BUT, I have spent too many times in the ER with severe acid reflux (where I was vomiting and throwing up mucous that my body was producing to protect me from the extensive acid reflux). Not fun!

I have had the endoscopy and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I was asleep and really didn't realize how short the procedure was. I had my gallbladder removed back in '04 and still had bad acid reflux after that. But the gallstones were the worst. I would get pain where I felt like I was having a heart attack. It would radiate from just under the ribs on the right side, to up into my shoulder blades, my clavicle, and even into my neck and ears.

If you have medical insurance, I would strongly suggest getting it taken care of as soon as you can. I waited too long and caused all sorts of unnecessary pain for myself. Now I take Prilosec every day (as prescribed by my doctor), and I don't have nearly the problems I used to. I do have to be very careful of certain pizzas. And I have to watch what I eat, but it's really not that bad compared to the pain.

Hope this helps.

M.,

I had my gal bladder removed in 2001 due to stone. They were very painful, but only when I ate tomato sauces. The dr originally told me if I could eat a MCD hamburger and fries without any problem it was not stones. Boy was that dr wrong! I would get very severe pains on the right side near ribs and feel like vomitting. It took months for Kaiser to get me into surgery and they took it out laproscopically, however, there were over 100 stones and they thought there were only a few. Don't wait too long, go have an ultrasound done so they can see if you have stones. The surgery itself is outpatient and some people recover so quickly they can go to work the next day. I had some issues with pain and trying to sit up, but was recovered in about a week.

The other posts that mention not being able to eat fatty foods anymore; I do not have that issue at all. There are a few times where I feel like I am having a small attack again after eating certain foods, but it quickly goes away with rolaids and everything is fine.

Good luck and if you have any other questions you can e-mail me.

Hi M.:
My gallbladder was removed when I was 19 years old. I am 48 years old today. What I learned is that this can be a hereditary condition... as was my case. My diet was not the problem; my bile produced high levels of cholesteral which formed stones in my gallblader.

I am not sure what they have learned 30 years later, but I would get the doctor to do some tests to verify that they are stones, and if the source is your own chemistry or diet, and make sure it is nothing more serious like early warnings of something more serious like your heart.

When you are having pain, your body is warning you. So don't wait to investigate.

Best wishes to you for treating whatever this ailment is and good health in the future.

Yours truly,
J.

Gallstones, make sure your doctor does all the tests. I have known too often doctors don't run the proper tests, so if you're not satisfied with the answer, get a second opinion.

Acid reflux can wear out the lining of your intestines to the point of irrepairable damage. Take care of it right away. Eat the right foods and don't overeat. Talk to your doctor and get help. My cousin's husband had to have most of his intestines removed because of acid reflux and his stomach has been attached to nearer his mouth. He now has to be very careful of what he eats.

Dear M.,
I had to have my gallbladder removed after doing a liquid fast for 8 mos. I did not recognize the symptoms, but began to feel real pain around my back. It eventually grew worse until it spread to the front of my abdomen area. It felt like I was caught in metal vise that someone was turning and squeezing me with. Very painful. I could not wait to get to the doctor. He basically told me there is nothing you can do. He said to go home until it was so painful I wanted it out! That didn't take long. Sometimes I miss it, find that spicy foods or greasy especially really don't agree with me. That missing little extra bit of bile helps.

Hope you DON'T have this happen! God bless. Ev

well first off eat a low fat diet (NO fried foods, no milkshakes, no cheeses/ pizza, very low milk) and stay hydrated with water. If it gets you so sick ( fever, not able to eat or drink for more than a few hours, or pain is very bad) you will need to get help then (even ER )
The testing can find out if it is your gallbladder and is as easy as an ultrasound... (fasting before) also blood work to make sure is not gone past that to pancreatitis on top it.... your regular doctor can order these, or see a general surgeon (so you can get help if you get stuck)
The fix is a outpatient surgery ( or overnight if the kids will not leave you to rest the first night/day ) that doesn't have to end breastfeeding or keep you from carring for your kids (need 24 hrs "off" the help for another 3-5 days. Like driving is no no on pain meds...)
Good Luck....

Hi,
First let me say, I'm so sorry you are having this problem. If it is truly gallstones, they can be very painful. I was 27 when I first started having problems and it took the doctors a long time to figure out what it was. I of course had no idea, so you are ahead of me on that front. You are at higher risk if you have 2 or more of the four F's. (Fat, Female, Fair, Forty) I met 3 out of the 4 and had also been on the pill for some time. They say yo yo dieting will sometimes contibute to the buildup also. You can count me in that catagory as well.

Any hard to digest foods are bad, any high fat foods will also bring on an attack. I remember one night after eating corn on the cob I thought I was going to die... so don't do that! I would go to the doctor and ask for a sonagram to be sure. At least that way you know what you are dealing with. Sometimes gallstones are small enough to pass on their own but most of the time they just remove your gallbladder. It's been over 20 years and I don't miss mine at all. Good Luck to you.

Yes, it sounds like you have gall stones. I has the same thing about 2 years ago, and had my gall bladder removed immediately. It doesn't go away! I have a history of gall stones on the female side of my family so my doc took no chances and just removed it. But i had to have an ultrasound to see if there were any stones and there were. My sister had the same thing about 1 year before me and both of our docs said that the estrogen from having kids makes the byle crystalize in the gall bladder and when the "crystals" or stones try to pass through the opening, they get stuck and the bladder squeezes and that is where the pain is coming from. It is potentially fatal so I would not take any chances, the surgery was very easy, I even had my tubes tied at the same time! I just had it done laproscopically and have 3 small scars. GO TO THE DOCTOR!!!

I had pain off and on for nearly three years before I finally was diagnosed with gallstones. This came to light when I was 6 weeks from delivering my third child. I made it through, delivered him and went nearly a year without another attack. When I did suffer another attack I was rendered unable to move on the floor and my boyfriend had to come home from work and take me to the hospital. The next morning they removed my gallbladder (which I regret now. Seek a medical diagnoses. I was advised to drink unsweeted cherry juice and eat green apples, something about an enzyme that helps to break down smaller stones. I did that throughout my attack free year, but I already had two large stones and the gallbladder was too diseased. Don't opt for surgery right away if you can stand the minor uncomfort and try the remedies I mentioned.

I've gained a horrible 70 pounds or so since my body now absorbs just about every gram of every fat I eat now that my gallbladder isn't there to help out, (I do watch my fat intake but it's not much help)
Good Luck

Hi M., Your problem may not be gall stones,my elderly mother was having the same symptoms and complained to her Dr. he set up an ultra sound test. Even though a lump could be felt in her intestinal tract, after the ultra sound, they told her it was a kidney stone and would pass in a few days but didn't. After a CAT scan the 'kidney stone' turned out to be a tumor. I don't mean to alarm you, if the pain keeps persisting you should have stool sample test and or the invasive colonoscopy. My mother is 87, had major surgery and will not be on earth much longer. If what she's gone through can save someone else from the same, I will tell her story over and over again. Best of luck, and I sincerely wish nothing like that is wrong with you. Sincerely, CJ

I have not had personal experience with gall stones but I do have lots of experience with a line of nutritional/herbal products (www.symmetrydirect.com/ehdnodn) that can be very helpful.

I distribute this line of products that I have been taking for almost 10 years. I get great great results for every health issue I have targeted with them.

The company is Symmetry Direct. The products are an effective blend of Eastern and Western ingredients and philosophies.

For gall stones, you would want to do a colon cleanse with BotanaCleanse Plus and also use Botanalax(herballaxative). Bio Infinity is also very important. For and attack of pain/swelling, take Advanced Omega (omega III fatty acids) and Tranquility (B vitamins & herbs for calming the body). Drink lots of water and cut sugar from your diet.

Please take a look and don't hesitate to contact me for anything.

I had a few big gallstones. and they weren't in the right places. I ended up having laproscopic surgery, to remove the gallbladder and then endoscopic surgery to remove stones heading toward a bile duct tube. yuck. but i am fine and back to normal.
avoid having to go to the ER. And call you doc monday and make an appt to at least get your blood drawn which will tell you if you are ok or not.

I had one major attack and felt like I was having a heart attack. I went to the doctor and they ran the test and found out I had one big gall stone. I had my gall bladder removed and that was it. No more pain and it was done by arthroscopic surgery which was not a big deal healing time wise. I recommend instead of dealing with pain that will get worse - go to the doctor and see what they recommend.

I have had gallstones in the past but I have watched my diet considerably with no more than 10-15 grams of fat a day and eat lots of veggies and so far so good. When I did get them I would go on a clear liquid diet for 24 hours and the pain went away. Everyone is different and it's just what I am doing now to prolong surgery. I don't want to have it unless absolutely necessary. So, talk to your dr. :) Mine said it wouldn't hurt me :) to go on a low fat diet. So that's what we are trying for now. Google a gallstone diet and there are recommendations as to what to eat. Good luck.

Hi M.,

I had my gallbladder out about a month after I had my son. It started much like yours, only I had no clue what it was. But then it progessively got much worst. First it would wrap around my chest and then my back and would last about 10 minutes. The next time I had an attack it would do the same thing, but then it hurt to breath and there was no position, sitting, standing or laying down that would help and it lasted about 30 minutes or so. It finally got to the point that it woke me up in the middle of the night and after crying for 2 hours because of the pain I drove myself to the ER (hubby had to stay with our son). They gave me morphine which helped and had told me that I needed to have an ultra sound done to check. They also gave me a prescription of vicodine for the pain. The next day I went for the ultra sound and was told that my gallbladder was impacted with stones and I had two options. One was to deal with it and the other was to have surgery. I elected for the second and was going to call my doctor to schedule an outpatient surgery for the next week. Well I went home that day and had another attack. The worst by far, I couldn't even pick up my 1 month old who was only 8 pounds. I took 2 vicodine when my hubby got home and it did nothing for the pain. It was the worst pain I had ever been it, much worse than labor! I went back to the ER, they admitted me and the next morning I had surgery to have it removed. I stayed 1 night in the hospital and have been fine ever since.

My best friend just had her gallbladder out, but she let it progress to far and had to have a drain insert in her. It had shut down about a month prior and was effecting her kidney function.

I would go to your doctor and at least have an ultra sound done for it. Trust me if the pain gets worse you won't want to deal with it!!

Best of luck,
K.

Hi M.,
I did have gallstones and the symptoms you are experiencing sound familiar. They don't go away on their own and you can diet control the symptoms but long term it is difficult. Your gallbladder is only slightly more functional than your appendix and works with the liver. Usually spicy foods make the paid worse. When I had my worst attack it was worse than giving birth. The test is a simple blood test and the surgery is usually an outpatient arthroscopic one unless you have complications. I would definitely consult your doctor and insist on having the blood test. Especially if you have a family history as it does run in families as well. I had mine out between kids. Good luck to you and I hope it feels better. I ignored it for about 9 months and boy did I regret that when I had an attack that lasted several hours. So please ask your doctor to check it out.

I never had problems until after my pregnancy. It is a very sharp pain, and usually occurs after you have eaten something high in fat, or fried foods. Within three weeks of giving birth to my son, I had to have my gallbladder removed. I had 150 BB sized gallstones that were blocking the bile duct. You can try switching to a very bland, no-fried-foods, low fat diet and see if that helps the problem. My older sister did that after the birth of her sons, and that seems to alleviate the problem.

I hope this has helped you somewhat.

HI M.,
I know this is a very delayed response- you may have already dealt with the problem- but i just thought I would tell you about my experience. I had gallbladder pains throughout my pregnancy. I got a remedy from a mom on here when I posted my request from help 8 months ago. Every morning I drank a concoction of: juice of one lemon, two tablespoons and apple cider vinegar(I used braggs- from a health food store), and a tablespoon on olive oil. THis helped keep the pains to a minimum. I noticed if I did not take it for a couple days it would come back.

I did not have actual gallstones- just inflamed and irritated. It went away when I had my daughter. I also did a liver flush and did not notice a significant change.

Hopefully you have already dealt with it- if not this simple remedy really helped me.

It's not acid reflux...it's your gallstones. Drs. told me the same thing...but then a friend said I needed to get my gallstones taken out. I was throwing up so much (acidic throw up)...but came to find out that it was the gallstones/gall bladder that make you feel that way. I was experiencing pain on my right side below my ribs too...go see a doctor and ask them to take a took at it and suggest the whole gallbladder thing. They can find out it you have stones. My doctor couldn't figure it out until I suggested it to her...and sure enough it was my gallbladder. I was in the hospital within a couple of days and the procedure was completed. I feel so much better! Haven't thrown up since, but before they perform the procedure...they will tell you not to eat. I didn't eat for 4 days while I was in the hospital.

Hi M.,
Ok here's one for you... yes those sound alot like gallstones. they can be pretty painful if not taken care of. In fact 1 month after my daughter was born (almost 2 yrs ago) i had to have my gallbladder removed
! the pains were so bad i couldn't walk or breathe. But i had been diagnosed the last trimester of my pregnany. so i basically had only 3 weeks to breastfeed my daughter( which I felt really bad for) but they had to be removed. Also I do remember that earlier that year my mom was in the hospital as well to have her gall blader removed-she's in her early/mid 50's- she was such a trooper. I was the only pregnant girl amongst the entire emergency hospital yeah it was a bit gross- being around a ton of sick ppl and your pregnant! don't recommend it. My best bet to you would be to get it checked out and if you have to get them out-do so the pain will only increase! heck since you have an active lifestyle your in for a speedy recovery. my mom was in the hospital for 3 days- i was in for an outpatient surgery and was back in my bed later that afternoon. but it was very hard tho- i couldn't pick up my child for almost a week so my husband had to place her in the bed next to me when he left for work and my mom would stop by and help me get her to the living room where i spent most of my day till my husband would come home and help me get the baby ready for bed. the only thign is that you really can't lift anything for about a week or two. but in the end it's worth it- NO MORE PAIN! good luck with your decision.

The surgery is minor (three 1-inch incisions) and recovery quick (10 days and you'll be good as new). AND if you ever have a full-fledged attack, it truly feels like you're dying, like a heart attack even for someone who tolerates pain well. You can live the rest of your life symptom-free without a gall bladder.

P.S. The four F's are: Fat, Fertile, Forty and Female. And I DID control further bad attacks from spring until fall (when I had time to have surgery) with a low/no-fat diet and no greasy foods. Only problem I have now is I can't eat really greasy stuff like onion rings done in burger restaurants --- well, I can but there are after-effects. But, I don't need to be eating that stuff anyway!!

My experience with gallstone attacks is nothing like what you described as 'not too bad'. I compare the pain to childbirth pain- excruciating! and it's wave-like that lasts about half an hour or more. It usually happens after consuming oily or greasy foods about an hour or two later.

Sorry to say but you need to get yourself to a doctor right away. Gallstones can create some bad problems if left untreated. You need to know what you have. It may also be something else, but please find out.

M.,

I had my gallbladder removed about a year before my second child was born. If the pains are increasing in intensity and more often, you need to get it checked out. I will tell you from experience it will only get worse. It is actually a relatively simple procedure, and depending on your tolerance will depend on when you start moving around again. (I am crazy, so I threw my then almost 2 year old a party the next day.)

hello M.,

i had gallstones in the early 80's very painful experience. i suffered for one year and i got the pain with vomiting and nasua. some foods make it worst then others such as spicy, greasy and some dairy products. be very careful because when the pain becomes to intense it is hard to get pain medicine that will work fast. except for when you go to the emergency room and they give you morafine. go to the doctors and they will do either an ultrasound or x-rays to determine if this is what you have. i suggest doing this as soon as possible because like i experienced it took them one year to diagnois me and i missed a lot of work and almost lost my job because of it. and stay away from spicy foods, dairy products and fast foods because of the grease, also sometimes salads made the pain more intense because of the digestion factor. each more fruits and bland foods this seems to help with digestion and the pain won't come as often. hope this help. take care and god bless.

Yes, that sounds like gall stones. Mine was much worse, got to the point where I was doubled over on the floor. They removed my gall bladder and I've had no issues that I'm aware of with the removal. I was told that processing foods with fat causes the pain, so went fat free for the month between my last attack and the surgery. That worked. Good luck! C.

Mandie,
I lived with this pain for over 2 yrs undiagnosed because the doctor I was referred to by an ER did not believe me when I told him I did not eat after midnight like he told me not too. So when he saw something on the in office ultrasound machine he flatout told me I know you ate something that's why there is something there. He gave me prescription Pepcid AC. It was a placebo for me for awhile, then I moved to live with my mom in another town.

I had 2 attacks within 30 mins and my mom drove me straight to that towns ER and I was told I had a classic textbook case of gallstones and they did a ultrasound right then and found them. They got me a surgeon and I was seen within a day or so and he immediately put in the request for the surgery because as he said you can't leave the gallbladder in once its diseased.

I had the surgery done laproscopically and was only a little sore I had 4 bandaid stitches as they called them back in 92' only my bellybutton had real stitches. I have since developed something near my bellybutton but that is probably from my genetic disorder and not the surgery.

I was so happy to not have that pain anymore and to finally have someone believe me. I was told it was indigestion to irritable bowel syndrome the IBS diagnosis came from a woman; who had the nerve of saying that being a first time mom I was very nervous which was probably causing my pains. She recommended I take fiber supplements to help me poop.

Didn't help at all, they only drawback from this surgery is some people like me develop diarrhea from eating too much fat in a meal. Right after surgery I couldn't even get through a meal without rushing to the bathroom, so eating out was a problem for my family. Now I know to watch my diet and when I do consume too much greasy foods I know what will happen. I decided not to take a special medication that might have helped me because my insurance would not pay for it and it was way too expensive at the time.

Now I just deal with it. Go to the doctor get an ultrasound they are better nowadays than they were and get rid of your pain. Just make sure if you do have the surgery that the surgeon checks the bile duct if he leaves that in, sometimes a stone can be in there and later on you will start having the pains again. That happened to someone I knew she had to have a kind of laser surgery at her Kaiser Hospital.

BTW the doctor gave me my stones after surgery and told me my gallblader was just filled up with stones. And that 1 of them was the size of a 50 cent piece and he said its no wonder I was in so much pain. He also sent some of the stones to pathology to make sure it was just from Cholesterol, I still have problems with my Cholesterol moreso now that I don't have a gallbladder but I deal with it with Niacin everyday.

I hope I haven't overwhelmed you, I just don't want you to wait out of fear because I did that when I had problems with the first doctor and it cost me a lot of missed time with my newborn daughter who is now 16 1/2. Don't make the same mistake get it diagnosed and fixed quickly. Let me know what happens.

I had my gall bladder removed 8 yrs ago. It took awhile for my provider to diagnose me because I didn't fit the "profile" of someone with gallstones. Anyway, I had serious pain directly in the middle of my back and stomach. The pain would radiate all the way up to my shoulders. I had episodes where I was curled up in a fetal position, rolling around on my bed. It hurt sooooooooo bad,I couldn't even speak. I have never had that pain again...What a relief!

I have experienced Gallstones and it's not nice. I was getting the same pain you are that went all the way into my back. Mine came and went and sometimes hit me after I ate or drank something certain. I am now recovering from having my gallbladder taken out. That is what they will most likely do is take it out and you will have four small incisions. I had to deal with my for almost two weeks before I had it taken out and now I'm doing much better.
