I'm going to be transitioning my 2 year old into her big girl room in anticipation of her new brother or sister this summer. I'm looking for furniture brand recommendations for where to get her bedroom set. Our nursery furniture, which we were told was a good brand and was not cheap, is Munire. It's total junk. The wood is so soft and dents and chips all the time and if it had to grow with her, we'd have to replace it in a few years. Can anyone recommend a brand that can live up to a toddler's lifestyle and might actually make it until she's older?

Our son's stuff is Stanley. He's had it since he was 2 1/2. Now he's 12 1/2. I'm hoping we never have to buy him furniture again! :))
I bought my daughter's furniture at Costco of all places and qwe LOVE it. It is holding up very well and was a great price for many pieces. Take a look online.
My toddler has been using JCPenney furniture for a year and it's holding up really well, is pretty and not too young so she can grow with it, it's sturdy and well built. Her nursery furniture also came from there, as did our dining room set...we've been happy with all of it. If you're not in a hurry they seem to have great sales in October.
*UPDATE* I just got an email from JCP saying all furniture is 50% off...that's a HUGE deal!!
Pottery Barn Kids - sturdy, attractive and less expensive than you'd think.... Also, many pieces are available right at the store. Put them in your minivan and go!
We bought both of our sons Stanley young America. It is real quality, comes in every stain and color imaginable, is real hard wood, looks very pottery barn-ish but much better quality. It is more expensive than pottery barn for some things but your daughter will have it till she goes to college. Here's the link. Also, most quality furniture dealers sell it and I know raymour and flanigan sells it to.
Look for retailers selling real wood furniture, not the fake stuff most retailers sell. Often the store name will let you know a place is focused on selling real wood furniture (House of Oak, etc.). We've had great luck with Bassett Furniture and it's even made in the U.S. You do pay a lot more for real wood but it will pay off in the long run because it will last.
Go to a good furniture store and buy a sturdy bed and dresser that will last a lifetime. So many parents buy a cutsie bed for their toddler and expect it to last a long time. They are not made to last. You want a bed that is sturdy enough for an adult to sleep on in case you have to lay down with her someday. Think about how great it will be for her to have the same bed to someday hand down to her child someday. My son was able to do that for his son. My 3 year old grandson is so proud of his bed. He tells everyone that sees it that it was daddy's bed when he was a little boy.
If price is not an issue, then I would consider Ethan Allen. That's what my parents purchased for me as a child. I used it until I moved out of the house and now my 7 month old daughter (I'm 37) has the dresser in her room and will eventually get the canopy bed and night table.
It's solid furniture with a classic look that doesn't go out of style.
We just purchased my son a bedroom set from Kloter Farms (they deliver to NY) Once a year they have a pretty decent sale. We purchased the set then. Still expensive, but saved a bit too. This is quality furniture as well. Built to last.
