My daughter will be turning 3 next week and my husband and I are looking for somewhere fun and different to do with her. Do any of you have suggestions for a fun day out in this winter weather?

What can I do next?

The zoo - penguins, butterflys, giraffes, amphibians, reptiles and polar bears are all inside. The Henry Ford Museum. The Detroit Science Center. The Ann Arbor Hands on Museum. We have memberships to all of these since our daughter was a baby, she is now 4 and we just took her to Cranbrook Science Museum, she loved the dinosaurs and the rocks but it may be too old for your 3 year old. Have fun.

We've gone to Rainforest Cafe at Great Lakes Crossing, in addition to the cool decor, they have a desert, I thinkit's called the Volcano, that they bring out with sparklers. It's big enough for the whole fam. And before or after Rainforest, you can let her play in the play area located at the food court, and they have Jeepers which is basically in indoor carnival. They do have a few other places in the mall too that she could play at, I just can't think of them off hand. Whatever you choose, have fun!!

Maybe an indoor waterpark.. I think you can get day passes to local hotels or community centers that have them. If you haven't gone to a jumpy place before, they usually have open jump also.

Pump It Up. There is one in Auburn Hills and one in Shelby. My friends' kids love it there and are around 3. We are taking my daughter over Spring Break since she just turned 2 and is finally old enough.

If you want to be outside, try the Lloyd Nature Center in Troy. Pretty soon they will be having there Maple Syrup tours and my son really seems to enjoy it.
