Just ride it out. Sometimes its best to let the kids work it out on their own! :)

Sometimes our children just want us to be quiet and listen to them.

Take care

A nine year old is mature enough to understand that his actions affect others. Do not excuse your sons behavior but try to work with him to be nice to others.

This is sooo typical. All kids want to fit in and be like their friends. Some kids are leaders, and some are followers. We all need to find our place in the "pack".

Just teach your son the values/lessons you want him to carry throughout his life, and let him sort out who are his real friends.

There is nothing wrong with copying a friend...siblings do it all the time. The kid just wants to be like you son. Why is that bad? It is YOUR job to make sure you son is behaving like someone who deserves imitators. A little competition can be good for him too.

The only time I'd be worried is if my son were copying everything a "bad" kid did.
