Friday Jitters

OK, so it's Friday, woo-hoo!!

It's 11am, I've got no work to do but I have to be here until 4:30 unless they let us go early which would be probably around 4. I've got stuff I need to get done at my house. My kids are leaving for sleep-away camp this Sunday morning (OMG I can't wait!) & we still have a good bit of shopping to do, lots of laundry, haven't even STARTED packing, and need to take Hailey to get her hair braided tomorrow morning.

I think because I really have nothing to do at work and I'm starting to get all tummy-churny thinking about my list of things to get done, but my day is going to feel like it's lasting just forever I'm afraid.

How do I combat this feeling? What do you do when you're in a similar situation?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for the suggestions, guys! It was actually the act of making the lists that started my worry because then I could plainly see how much I still needed to buy/get done.

I did call the kids per Rachel's advice & have them go through all of their clean clothes & lay out as many outfits as they could & put everything else in the hamper separated by colors/whites to make it easier for me to get the laundry done. I went to the drug store on my lunch break & bought all of the travel sized toiletries they'll need. All I really need to do now is take them to Target tonight for extra sneakers, socks & sleeping bags, get the laundry done, physically pack, and get Hail's hair done. That seems much more manageable.

Thanks again ladies & I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!!

Make yourself lists (handwritten, not mental) of all the stuff you've got to get done and lists of the things you have to pack. If the kids or your husbands home now, call them and ask them to knock out 'x, y, and z' before you get home, and to please leave it out on the bed so all you have to do it check it and pack it.

Is there any way you could leave an hour or two early today? Skip your lunch break and leave early?

my first thought was make a detailed list and map out what places to go to first to make the errands as fast as possible. Clean out your desk. Deleat old emails, run a defrag on the computer, check the supply room , order whats needed. have no idea what your job is and if this is stuff you do. Make follow up calls, Stay busy looking. Time flies. The weekend will be here and gone, and the kids will be home next week and youll wonder where the time went.
