There shuld be a "map" in the phone book or online. I have been to the Fox.. Since it is a small theater the view is pretty good from most places. Try to stay in the center. What a wonderful holiday event to attend. Have fun!
If any of you have ever been to the Fox Theater in Detroit I have a question for you. I want to get tickets for the Nutcracker, but I'm not sure what seats to purchase. I don't want to spend more than necessary, but I have no idea how good the view is from the "cheap seats". Will I be so far back or to the side that I won't be able to see anything but little specks dancing around? I have no idea how big the theater is except that it seats 5,000 and I can't find a way to call the theater itself to ask my questions (I just keep getting an automated recorded phone menu with no live person).
Thanks,
A.
Thanks! I bought my tickets this morning for the floor (all the way at the back - they have been on sale since May!). I can't wait!

There is no such thing as a bad seat at the Fox.
We sat way at the top to see Mary J Blige once, we needed binocluars! BUT we usually sit in the Gallery Area- A4 or A5 are my favorite, and those seats are good!
If you're not too far, you can take a group trip and the bus takes you to & from, so you don't have to worry about the $10-$20 parking! (And the seats are in Gallery A4) www.wixomparksandrec.com under Bus Trips!
Enjoy the show!
You should be able to log on their website and see a map of the theatre (where the stage is vs where the seat is located) and then decide how much you want to spend based on that info. But it is a small theatre, so I would think most of the seats will be good seats for you and your kids.
the fox is a small theatre.. 5,000 seats. there are no bad seats.. but consider if you are taking small children what they will be able tosee from their height..
I only take my kids to 1 or 2 shows a year... and I am williing to pay for the best seats so they can see the show.
I agree that there is no such thing as a bad seat at the Fox (it isn't really big enough for that) that being said I LOVE front row center of the mezzanine
I've been to the Fox many times and I like it. The theater is not too big nor is it two small. I've had Balcony seats several times and I had no problem seeing. I've also sat in the center and the few was good there as well.
Enjoy
the mezzanine level is good. you're up above, which is good for kids, rather than the back of the main floor.
**also, if you can, go to hockeytown authentics in troy to get your tickets...no service charges!
Cheap seats are ust that cheap seats, it is a show that you would want to see up close. You can see the stage from everywhere in the theatre, but the dancers will look small, if you can swing it, get main floor, nobody will be disappointed.
You can look at the seating in the phone book. I would say get seats on the main floor only to half way back and not to the edges about 15 seats. The balcony is great if any are available and not too far to the sides. Balcony way better that main floor back area. We love it up there!
