Foods with Calcium

I need suggestions!! My 8 year old daughter hasn't had a sip of milk since she turned 3. Pediatrician says if she's still not getting enough calcium at age 9 she'll have to go on a supplement. This is fine, but I was hoping some of you smart folks out there could give me more ideas on what foods have the most calcium.

She currently eats cheese and yogurt every day, but lately has decided she doesn't like the yogurt I'm buying, so I've tried to change it up (to no avail, they are all "yucky") So that's why I'm asking the question today. Suddenly she's getting even less calcium than before.

One thing I do when I make instant oatmeal for her - instead of using hot water I use milk. Do any of you have other ideas like this? Somewhere else I can "hide" the milk. I don't really hide it - she sees me putting it in there. She just doesn't want a glass of milk (neither do I , for that matter)

So, I'm looking for 2 things. Recipes where I can get some milk into this kid. And other foods I can pack for lunch or whatever that have a high calcium content. She loves chocolate pudding, but I'm not sure if that should be an every day thing? Maybe someone knows of a brand that is good? Thanks in advance for the help!!

What can I do next?

Is she opposed to milk in any form? I also do not like milk, but sometimes I blend a cup of milk with a banana and tablespoon of peanut butter to make a smoothie. It tastes more like ice cream than a banana, but it's filling and healthy.

What about soups with cream bases? Fettuccine alfredo made with lowfat milk?

Just a thought t i would talk to your doc first though. Try the cook book i think you will be surprised what you can do with pureed veggies and things. Some of the reciepies sound gross but if they dont know whats in them your good.:)

Add to Tracy's list, fish with edible bones like sardines and canned salmon (wild caught). My kids go crazy over that stuff but I know it grosses alot of kids out. Both of them are dairy free but I do add in a chewable gummy calcium supplement every other day.

Just a thought but seeing as how yours is 8 it might not work but it's worth a try. Also have you tried using chocolate or strawberry syrup or one of the many other favors u can make milk these days!! Good luck
