A.S.
Awwww . . . I'm so sorry D. though I do believe you did the right thing. It must have been so tough.
<<hugs>>
Sad to say I had to put her down this morning. When I got home last night she was running a fever and shaking. My oldest son had stayed with her all day and was a nervous wreck. She was so uncomfortable. I had to express her bladder and there was blood in her urine. She already had a bladder infection.
Whew! It was a long hard night. I stayed on the couch next to her all night. She cried and whimpered and I gave her the pain and muscle relaxers triying to make her as comfortable as possible. I hand fed her chicken and rice and used a syringe to give her water. It was so sad. I only got about 2 hrs of sleep.
A friend of my sons works at a vets office in Schertz. So I took her in this morning. My daughter wanted to come with me but I thought it would be too hard on both of them. Her and my two boys said their goodbye's.
I am at work now and I feel sad but relieved that my poor puppy is no longer in pain.
Thank you everyone for the kind words. I love this website and all the mommas and dads here!
D.
Thank you for the kind thoughts and words. I wore waterproof mascara today. I feel like a robot greeting people and answering the phones. BUT i can't take off! I was off on Monday. My poor coworkers! They are all guys and can't stand to see me cry. They stand at a distance and say they are sorry!
Now to go home and clean up her stuff!
Thanks again for the kindness!

D.,
Hugs hugs hugs!!!!
Stay strong!!!
I can't imagine how it feels. I have 2 dogs one who is almost 10, one who is 3.
I know I'll have to face this sometime, and it is not going to be easy!
Rainbow bridge is a GREAT poem.
I am very sorry to hear that things did not work out as you had hoped, but I am glad your puppy is no longer suffering and she is in a better place. Take care and God Bless...
D., I'm so sorry about your doggy, such a hard thing. We had to put one of ours down last August. It was awful. It's STILL awful.
But now your doggy and mine can run together over the rainbow bridge!
I just have no idea how you are holding it together at work.
Thinking about you.
:)
Thanks for the update. You all are in my prayers. Sending you all hugs. I think after a really good cry you guys needs some fun and laughter.
This post brought tears to my eyes. I remember when my chocolate lab had to be put down. They are truly part of the family. I had to take comfort in that she was suffering (she had cancer) and it was better. I know this has been a very hard day for you. I read your post the other day and I'm so glad to see this follow up. You are in my thoughts and I wish you all the best in coping with the loss of your puppy. :-)
My condolences. I had to put down two dogs in 2010. I know how you feel. Best wishes.
God Bless you and your family D. and the little angelic soul that just departed.
Lots of hugs to you. It is never easy losing a four legged family member and their suffering is hard to see since they are so innocent and helpless...but she is in a better place in puppy heaven.
Hang in there.
I'm so sorry to hear this and I've been there before so I know how you are feeling. You did the right thing for your furry friend. It is very, very hard to see them suffer so. I believe that our fur babies will be waiting for us in heaven ...
You're in my thoughts!!
I'm so sorry to hear about your puppy, D..
Luckily, doggies go to heaven too. She'll be waiting for you.
Aw, I'm so sorry to hear that. It's always hard to let pets go, they're like family members! We had to put our cat down years ago because he had fluid around his heart..it was terrible. But it sounds like your puppy was blessed to have you in her life. :) You're in my thoughts!
I'm so sorry. I lost one 8 months ago. He went to rainbow bridge in my arms and I don't know how in the world I was able to drive home from the vet's office......its a devastating dark place to be in.
He's still very much alive in my heart. It will get easier. You won't forget but it will get easier to face the loss. I wish you and your kids all the best, peace, and love.
I'm so sorry.
She knows how very much you loved her.
She's not suffering anymore.
Thoughts are with you and your family.
I am so sorry that you had to put your baby to sleep. I so feel your pain. I had to put one of our cats to sleep a couple of weeks ago and I still cry about it. My baby was in a lot of pain too and we are all just sick about what we had to do. I have actually had to put four of my pets to sleep through the years. It does get better, but of course you never forget them. They are such a big part of your family. Many hugs to you and your family.
I'm so sorry for your loss D.. :(
So sorry to hear. Be sure to share good memories over dinner for the next few nights. It will bring tears but it will surely bring some smiles and laughter. Your kids may need to know that this is the best way to grieve.
I'm still so incredibly sorry for you and your kids. I wish there was something I could do:(
I am so very sorry to hear about your loss. You did everything you could and then some, and I know it was the hardest and bravest thing you could have done to take away her pain. Her poor body just didn't work anymore and you are the angel that helped her thru that. I have been there and I know what you are going thru - I'm sending love and hugs and positive thoughts to you today!
You did the right thing. I am so sorry and I pray that things look up for you and your family. I have been there and I know they will. Get some rest and take care of yourself.
