Flying Southwest to Arizona in June

Hi there! Does anyone have an idea when is the best time to check Southwest Airlines for cheap rates to Arizona? We are going in June and it seems like the prices can change several times in a day. We saw some good prices like 2 months ago, but figured it was too early to buy them. Not to mention, we just took a trip to Florida and bought our tickets way early, then found them for like $100 cheaper about a month before! It's so frustrating! Anyway, the prices went down pretty low about 2 weeks ago in the afternoon and when I went to buy them that night they were back up again. Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

Did you know that with Southwest Airlines, if the price drops after you bought your ticket, you can get a price adjustment?

I bought tickets to Orlando for my family last year. I purchased the tickets several months before our trip because we had six people flying, and I wanted to make sure we could all get on the same flight. Between the time I bought the tickets and the time I flew, the price dropped three times. (The price also went up several times.) Each time the price dropped, I went online and repurchased the tickets using my confirmation number. I didn't get a refund for the difference, but I did get almost $400 in credit to use towards a future Southwest flight.

If you can get a decent price soon, I suggest you buy your tickets. You can always get flight credit if the price drops. The flight credits are transferrable to anyone. The people at Southwest are always patient when I call, and they were happy to walk me through the steps I needed to take to get a price adjustment online.

Also, the prices seem to C. every Tuesday, so keep your eyes open tomorrow. Good luck!

From a report I saw online: Statistically prices are lowest at 3 pm on Tuesdays when the computers have worked all the bugs out. When more people get on in the evenings and are buying, the price will inevitably jump.

You can sign up for their email alerts on their website. Otherwise the fare sales usually come out on Tuesdays.

21 days out is a good time to get Southwest. My husband travels and Southwest is our "company plane". I routinely book his tickets to Houston for $117 total round trip vs the right now price for about $272.

They have a low price calendar on the page as well, click on it and scan the cheaper prices.

Good luck

I use Southwest for exactly the reasons that Lucy F. talks about. Buy the tickets now, and watch the price. Southwest is the most reasonable airline out there, and their policies really do benefit the traveler.

I got my husband's tickets to CA last yr about 3 1/2 weeks over the next weekbetween the purchase and flight date. The Southwest website had the best prices over all of those travel sites. Over the week and a half before he went, the price was higher the entire time so we got the best price.
