Hello, I recently moved to Nevada and I'm currently seeking a really good Pre-School for my son to attend. Any help would be truly appreciated.

What can I do next?

Hi S. -
Welcome to Vegas! I send my three-year-old son to Spring Valley Monetessori school and have been very happy with them. The Arts are emphasized and it is multicultural with good teachers and a safe environment.

Good luck to you and your son, L.

Where in Vegas do you live? My youngest daughter is about to start Green Valley Lutheran Preschool and Kindergarten. (My oldest went there too). We love this school. I have also heard good things about...UNLV's Program, Seton Academy and the ABC (the one already mentioned with the link) but I think you have to live in Henderson to be able to attend that program. Though it is thru the parks and rec so if your address is Las Vegas then maybe they offer something similar. Good Luck to you.

I have an almost 3 year old and a 4.5 year old. They have gone to Hand in Hand Preschool for half a year and they love it. My big girl was in Ms. Martha's class and next week my little girl goes into her class. (my big girl is going into the next preschool level). They teach their kids a lot. The 3s (preschool 1) class learn to write their names, count, write ABCs, learn days of the week, months, seasons, about animals, manners etc... The 4s (preschool 2) class learn to count & write to 100, read & write sight words and are completely prepared for kindergarten by the start of school.
The owner/manager is a mom of 3 (her little boy is 3yrs old) and is very nice and runs the program exceptionally. The front office staff are great and greet parents and kids by name with a smile...every day.
They don't serve lunches (with all of the kid allergies and dietary restrictions these days it's no wonder). But the upside is it reduces the price compared to the preschools that will be serving your little one chicken nuggets and man-n-cheese. The other negative is they serve canned fruit for am snack instead of fresh. They do serve juice at am & pm snack times and provide milk for lunch.
One other good think that I noticed some of the other preschools don't have are 2 separate bathrooms in each classroom (2s class on up) for boys & girls. They are partners in potty training and really work with parents to get little ones onto the potty. As you can see, I can't say enough good things about them...Good luck in your search!
I don't know what side of town you are on. They are on Serene off of Eastern (down the street from Walmart)

I have my son in Vegas Valley Christian, it's off Mountain Vista and Russell. He'll be starting Pre-K on the 25 and he really enjoys it. It's a great little school, small classrooms and it goes up to 5th grade. Not to mention the cost is pretty great too! You can contact me, ###-###-#### or Linda Randis, principal ###-###-#### for more information.

Good Luck,
M.

Hi, S.! My son (4-yr. old) goes to Seton Academy. He started there last year and loves it! Great executive and administrative staff and wonderful teachers! They are reasonably priced and they offer before and after-school care. This is a preschool not a day care and I really like that...my son learns so much! They have a southeast (on Placid btw. Pyle & Silverado Ranch) and northwest (off El Capitan & Gilmore) location. Oldest running preschool in Vegas (since 1963!). It was recommended to me by a former supervisor who sent both her kids to Seton back in the day (her oldest is now in her late twenties and her youngest in his early twenties). She credited Seton with assisting her in correcting her son's stuttering issue.

Good luck in your preschool search!

Challenger preschool program is the best. I don't know what side of town but there is a campus in Henderson and summerlin. Summerlin ####-###-####. Man I should work for that preschool I promote it enough. You CAN afford the preschool don't listen to other people they have 2 3 and 5 day programs. Not a daycare or learning center this is a school and the kids love going and are taught. Check it out!

There is a Kid Co-op he can attend. They require that you help with the teachings once or twice a month. It's very parentally involved. It's great. Look it up online.. good luck.

S.,

Are you looking for something full time? I am putting my son in a preschool this year that is only 2 times a week for about 2 hours. My son is also 3. It is wonderful. It is just a preschool and nothing like a daycare. If you are looking for something full time then of course this wouldn't work. I have heard nothing, but wonderful things about this school. It starts the second week in September. Here is the link for more info. Good luck.
