Hi T.,

I have a very, very good friend that has found a great source that is natural that has helped tremendously for fibromyalgia. She was pretty much bed ridden and now she has relief. It's been almost 4 years and she is still doing very good. Do you want more information on something natural that could help?

Hi Theresa! I used to suffer fromfibromyalgia and horrible migraines. I went to a naturopath who put me on a progressive elimination diet(eliminate allergenic foods like soy, wheat, dairy, corn etc) for 30 days. Also, I went on a natural med called Petadolex (sp?). After 30 days I was a new person and I have not been on meds since. I also lost 15 pounds during those 30 days that I never regained.
I totally recommend going to a naturopath. My chiropractor referred me to the one I went to so I bet you could ask a chiro in your area.
The diet is hard but not as hard as being in horrible pain 24 hours a day with no hope in sight.
Feel free to message me if you want more info!

T.,
I so feel for you. I actually use to work with someone who had the same thing. I know it can be quite painful. I know that she also had the medication and was told to exercise, but she also had a massage weekly. She said it always felt much better afterwards. I think you can check with your dr and see if that can be part of your treatment plan. I am not sure where you live, but I know that there is a stephens off of cty rd b and lexington I think in roseville that doesn't charge too much for a massage either, since I know they can be pricey. I would tell them just to start out slowly as you work your way up to a more stern touch.
I hope this helps.

I was watching Oprah the other week and Dr.Oz was consulting another doctor about treating it and how changing things in your diet to help. Go to oprah.com and enter in fibromyalgia in the search bar. There should be several results for you. I hope this helps!

Hi T.,
My mother who also has fibromyalgia and rhuematoid arthritis is a nurse consultant for the American Pain Foundation. There's useful information on their website and many discussion boards that you may find helpful. It's painfoundation.org.

My mother-in-law suffers from it, but lives out of state. There's a new prescription medication, called Lyrica, that is now available. Other things I've heard of working are acupuncture. Best advice I can give is, I go to an amazing Chiropractor (Dr. Brad Kuntz- at Prior Lake Chiropractic)... I previously suffered from migraines and haven't had one since I've gone to him. He's up on homeopathic and newer treatment- is convinced he could help my MIL with her fibromyalgia when she's here this summer- and am hoping to get her down to see him. As for the massage- he also has a massage therapist on staff... I can't recommend him enough....

Hi T., I agree with the advice about switching to toxin free cleaning and personal products. I also agree that you should see a chiropractor. Find one that does applied kinesiology--it is a way of testing your body for sensitivities to foods and chemicals. The Melaleuca line of products is really good, we have used them for years--and a little goes a long way so it is very cost effective. As a nurse I would tell you to go the natural/alternative medicine route as modern medicine does not do a good job with this condition. You don't need narcotics to numb the pain, you need to figure out the causes and eliminate them from your surroundings. Good Luck!

Hi T.,

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 15 years ago. With this probelm, I also have Crohns, Acid-reflux, Hypo-glycemia, Hyper parathyroidism, and a nerve disorder called Wartenburg Syndrome. I have 17 allergies to prescription meds.

I had a biologist explain to my hubby & I that Fibromyalgia is a build up of toxins in the muscles. Therefore you need to eliminate the chemicals in your home.

By this, I mean, your cleaning supplies. Laundry detergent is HUGE!!! Most laundry detergents on the market have carcinogens in them. There is an incredible book out there called the "Safe Shopper's Bible" I recommend it highly. Did you know that Scope has DEET in it? Do you know what DEET is? It is found in Mosquito repellent! And this is okay by our government to have on the shelves for people to use on a daily basis. Hmmmmmmmmmmm something doesn't make sense here! I could go on, but I will keep this short.

My friend told me about this company called Melalecua 7 years ago. We just switched our shopping habits, my pain is NOTHING! like it used to be. I have more energy too. Melaleuca has incredible supplements. It took a few months for me to notice a difference but WOW! when I did, I really did!

I actually wheaned myself off all my meds and was walking circles around my family. Melaleuca also has an Access Bar which I take every morning faithfully. If I don't, I notice a difference. It keep my blood sugars stable.

Another thing to do, is watch the things you eat. I stopped drinking milk, and drinking soda, anything with caffeine is bad! Your body will tell you. Just keep a very close eye on your diet and journal it if you have to and then measure how you feel the next day. I know it sounds tedious, but isn't your peace of mind worth it. Not being put on meds that have so many side effects?

Please let me know if you would like more info.
