It doesn't matter if tampons or pads are used but by the end of my cycle I feel rubbed raw and a lot of irritation that it is down right uncomfortable. I do change them regularly to keep as dry as possible and I have tried different brands....Don't know what to do about it :( Ugh...Do I have to go through this every month?

What can I do next?

Did you feel this rawness after you delivered? If not, I would suggest going back to the warm water in a squirt bottle thing that you do when you are recovering.

I used to feel sort of that way. I started using the tampons that have plastic applicators, and I absolutely have to have the Tampax Pearls. They go in really easy. Make sure you are not using too large of a tampon also, that might make you feel rubbed raw if you are trying to put too big of one in there.

Talk to your OB. You may want to look into organic products (just google it), as most "off the shelf" brands are bleached to be white and maybe you are sensitive to that. They're more expensive, but may be worth the expense if you're too uncomfortable. Good luck!

Try the diva cup, it's just silicone, so it's shouldn't irritate you at all.

Try the Diva cup, or Instead. They're better!

Have you tried daily washing that area with warm water while in the shower? no soap and using your hands or a flannel cloth, thus avoiding irritation caused by a rough wash cloth. And then drying the area. Your tissues may be irritated by the increased moisture.

I had difficulty using tampons towards the end because the flow was so light. The tampon would "stick" to the vagina.

I personally use a Moon cup (it's like the Diva cup, just a different brand) and sea sponges. They help with that raw feeling. But if it is causing you a lot of grief you might want to talk to your gyno or OB.

Consider Instead. It's like the Diva Cup.

You might also speak to your OB about an allergy. You could look into reusable tampons and pads - generally made with cotton so if you can wear cotton undies, you should be able to use them.

I use (and love) the Diva cup, but I still have this problem. I think it's due to hormonal shifts that cause dryness. I use a lubricant and that helps.
