My cousin keep getting negatives on her home pregnancy tests and finally went to the doctor and she was definitely pregnant as a matter of fact she was pregnant with twins!
Ever since my Dh and I started trying 5 months ago, my periods have been crazy. Now I am 3 weeks late yet the 6 pregnancy tests I have taken are all negative. Now and then I get cramps like my period is coming but it doesn't. I also feel a little nauseous in the morning and my breasts are tender. Could I be prgnant or does my body think it is pregnant. I have a Dr's appointment next week but was wondering if anyone has experienced similar symptoms like I am having right now.
Thanks
R.

Similar thing happened to me. Have you tried a different brand of test? I had been using the cheap ones....and then my dr said try a different one...I bought the expensive digital one and SURPRISE, I was pregnant:)
Same thing happended to me last November. My last period was in September (very light) took lots of pregnancy test during October, and November, The exspensive ones on top of that! I had the cramping, and tender boobs, and very tired, so I knew something was up, and Finally at the end of November, after Thanksgiving, I went to the dollar store and bought six test, why not only a dollar a piece, and low and behold I was pregnant!! I took all of the test to make sure before I made my Dr. Appt., and they were all positive. Maybe your body has not produced the pregnant hormone yet. That's what I expercienced (sp) Good Luck to you!!! BTW my daughter was born July 27, 2007. She is the Apple of my Eye
Dear R., I remember not one but several ocasions when the same thing happened to me: I feld nauseous, dizzy, tender breasts, even getting the pregnant belly...nothing, it was just me and my desire to get pregnant doing all that to my body ( I was in a treatment to get pregnant). Your mind is a powerful thing and can do things you would not imagine, like making us feeling and even looking pregnant. The result, I tried hard to focus in different things besides our (my husband's and mine ) desire to get pregnant, like my job, friends, a vacation, for example and very soon (like in two months), I was pregnant for real and for good!. That was 4 years ago and now we have a wonderful 3 year old boy.
Good luck and relax!

R.,
I hate to be a bearer of bad news but I had a friend who thought she was preggers but the tests kept saying she was not. She went 5 months with no period and even started to get a big bells that was hard like she was really preg. when she went to the doc he told her that she was not pregnant but that she wanted so desperatly to have a baby that her mind convinced her body that there was a baby there. The doctor was amazed at how much her body had done for the false pregnancy, she had formed a mucus plug, her uterus had enlarged and even had a sack of fluid but no baby. The more you think about it the more your body will believe it. Your best bet is to pray and let God do the rest. Good luck and God bless.

A friend of mine didn't get positive tests in the beginning of her pregnancy, actually two friends of mine. Eventually one of them did, she didn't have insurance so dr/blood test wasn't an option but I would go that route. It is possible to get a negative and be pregnant.
Or, as a previous poster mentioned you could be stressed about it or something else. But cramps in the beginning of pregnancy are normal too, so it could just be the tests are not working right. Have you tried different brands?
Please update after your Dr appointment, I am now dying to know.
Good luck
Same thing happened to me. Make sure that you aren't using the cheap tests. Sometiems they cannot pick up the hormone difference if you are pregnant. My last period was in September when we tried for our daughter and I didn't find out i was pregnant until the end of October. i was about 7 weeks late for my period. I took 3 tests and they all came out negative. Every woman is different when they are pregnant and possibly your hormone level is low which means that a home pregnancy test won't pick it up. I used EPT test and that is when it worked for me. Hope this helps and congrats if you are pregnant.
Try taking the pregnancy test first thing in the morning with the day's first urine. Sometimes the pregnancy hormones are harder to detect early on in pregnancy, and the first morning's urine has the strongest concentration of the hormone because it has collected with your urine all night.
Good Luck!!
I used to miss my period all the time due to stress. I'd think for sure I was pregnant since my periods had never been regular and that probably compounded the issue. In my case (and I'm not saying this is true for you btw), the stress had stopped my periods. Apparently it's a common response to stress. On both occasions, my Dr put me on a very short dose of hormones and that brought my period on.
My life has since changed, I take a little better care of myself, I handle stress better and for once in my life my periods are regular. I'm sure your Dr will be able to give you a better idea of what's going on. Like I said, this may not be the case for you.
