My second pregnancy was a very faint line, so I didn't know what to make of it first (also unplanned at the time). But, everything worked out perfectly. I have a healthy, happy, energetic little 3 year old now! Good luck!
Hey Moms,
I took a pregnancy test early this morning and it had a very faint posotive line. Definitely visible but faint.
The negative line actually came up very clear first and the posotive about a miunte to two later.
The last time this happened to me, I miscarried.
I was wondering if any of you have had succesful pregnancies when you have faint posotives.
I used one of the First Response tests and another thing is I just don't "feel" pregnant!
Thanks in advance for any info.
Thank you to everyone that has responded and giving me so much hope about my pregnancy. I went to my OB on Wednesday and they tested my HCG and did an EPT at their office. The nurse thought it was negative at first because of how long the posotive took to show up but it did about 2 minutes later and again was very faint.
I should get my HCG levels back today and will be back on Friday to test them again and see if they have doubled.
I will keep you all updated and thanks again for all of your support and advice!

My daughter was a very faint positive, and was born healthy, happy and beautiful. Congrad's and good luck!
Positive is Positive, whether is screams or whispers... Congrats!

Yes it's possible, I got pregnant 2 1/2 months after having my first. And all that was there the first time was a very very light positive. I waited another week and took the test again, this time it was not faint at all. I decided the best thing to do was go have an ultra sound to see how fare along I was. And now I have two beautiful little girls. I hope things go well for you :)!

Yes it can be faint and just fine. My 2nd I took a test and it was neg., but a week later I took another and it was faint, but definetly positive, and now I have a precious 4 month old girl. Good Luck : )

My test for baby #1 was extremely faint, so much so that we had to convince ourselves we could see it. We also had to ask several family members to give us their opinion. The faintness of the line can be due to a number of factors: low amount of hCG (this itself could be due to how far along you are, or simply because some pregnancies cause more or less for whatever reason - at 6 weeks my second pregnancy had higher levels of hCG than the first, we thought twins!). OR the test itself could be the reason for the faintness of the line, maybe it is closer to the expiration date or something like that. Anyway, don't worry many people have had faint lines and have had beautiful, healthy babies! Congratulations!
The first 2 tests I took with my now 18 month old son were very faint. I think those were EPT. I then bought a First Response test and that one came back very visible. So, it could just be the test you are using. Good Luck!
It could just be the test. All of mine were pretty faint. Congratulations!!!
Well, from what I know you can have a false negative (I have had six) but NO false positive... the hormone in your system is only there and detectable when you're pregnant...
The first three tests with my now 3 year old were all very very faint... :) And it was just fine. :)
it's probably just very early- my first child was a very faint line before I "felt" pregnant, too. MY OB said you can get a false negative sometimes, but there's never a false positive. So, I'd bet if you re-tested (better yet, let your OB do it) in 3 days, it will be stronger, more so in a week, etc. Good Luck!
I had a VERY faint positive, but a positive is still that! If you really want to make yourself feel better, go buy a digital test. Pregnant, or Not pregnant may be easier to stomach!
Hi N.! I am 29 weeks pregnant with a VERY faint positive...and it is TWINS. So pretty much a positive is positive. It is tricky in the beginning to figure out the best time to take the test, so many variables. I would go see your doctor and get your levels checked out! Good luck!!
Both of mine were so faint, I could barely see the line. I actually called the company to find out for sure.
You can have a false negative, but not a false positive. The pregnancy hormones are stronger at some times during early pregnancy, so if you take it again in another week, early in the morning, you may get a more definate line. Good luck!
Congrats! I had two faint positives. They both came out healthy and strong. You'll be fine. =) Just take it easy and don't worry.
Take care and God Bless.

My faint positive is 6 months old now. Congratulations!!!

hello again...Well I had the same faint positive with my 6 year old daughter..
So..Congradulations.....

I likewise had a faint positive with my first pregnancy. My son is now three years old. I would however call your doctor and ask to get in ASAP. They can check your hormone levels to be sure that they fall within the normal range at this point in your pregnancy. We had a threatened miscarriage with him, but he was a-ok! Congratualtions!
I bet if you get a few more tests you can take one each day and watch that line grow darker. :)
