I use Clinique RepairWear Intensive eye creme along with my regular Clinique moisturizers that I use twice daily with my facial routine.
I've not had any issues with the product getting in my eyes.
Hope that helps!
I use philosophy eye products for my eye area. The eye hope (in am) and eye believe (in pm).
I always thought of these as eye moisturizers in addition to there other benefits, but I have seen where other people mention using moisturizer in the eye area in addition to the special eye products.
Is it necessary to use moisturizer around the eye area if you are already applying eye products?
My regular moisturizer burns if I get it too close to the eye area, so I can't really use that if it is recommended to moisturize in the eye area. So what moisturizers are good for the eye area and don't cause irritation, burning, etc?
And if you use eye products, do you also apply a regular moisturizer over the eye products within the eye area?
Thanks!

I use my regular moisturizer. Several years ago, I worked at the Sephora corporate office, and happened to sit directly next to the training department (where the people sat who were responsible for training all the store employees). Anyway, as such, I learned allllll about eye moisturizers (and all other topics related to makeup, fragrance, and skin care! ;). Here's the deal. They don't recommend that you ever get closer to your eye with ANY moisturizer or skincare product than the orbital bone. Dab the product around the orbital bone, and stop. Because the skin around the eye is so delicate, and your eyes are sensitive, you don't want to rub the skin around the eye, or risk getting product in your eyes. According to the corporate trainers, the dry skin around the eyes will "wick" the moisturizer closer to the eye from the orbital bone, so all of the skin will be moisturized without traumatizing that skin or your eyes.
That being said, NO, you don't need special eye cream. In reality, it's no different than what you're putting on your face. Happy moisturizing!
Eye creams are made not to irritate the eye. And to be worn under make up.
Even if you are not putting it in your eye, regular moisturizers can get into your eye. Because it seeps into that area.
Eye creams will not do that.
I use Clinique.
Just get an eye cream, and try it. It takes using it for a few weeks to see if you like one better than another.
If you are using an eye cream... then, NO, you do not have to put moisturizer on top of that.
I have always used Oil of Olay for my whole face, and use extra around my eye area. I also remember, when I was a teenager, and having a Mary Kay party was popular. Of course I used to go to lots of them. Anyway, I remember the Mary Kay lady always saying to put on your eye moisturizer with your ring finger, and to swipe it from the outside of your eye, to the inside of your eye, underneath your eye of course. I have always followed that rule with my Oil of Olay, and I still do not have any wrinkles around my eyes and I am 46. As for burning, on occasion when I put on my foundation (I use Mary Kay makeup) I get a burning feeling in my eyes. I don't really know why, because I don't get it in my eyes, but I keep using it anyway.
