Extreme Nasuea

I am on my 5th pregnancy and only about 6 weeks along. My nausea is so bad I can't leave my bed. There are days I eat very little because just the thought of food is making me ill. Then on the days I have brief breaks from the nausea and I can eat, I become even more nauseous after every meal. In the early AM I am ok but nearing 10AM until I go to bed at night it is horrible. I never experienced this with the other 4 pregnancies. I am starting to wonder if something is wrong or if I will be able to continue to take care of the other children (or myself for that matter) if this continues on. I am not vomiting but wish I would in hopes that it would make me feel better. I take prenatal at night and I have also tried a natural supplement that is supposed to help but it is not helping. If anyone has experienced this – please tell me it is going to end soon or that there is something I can do about it.

What can I do next?

I had a very easy first pregnancy, but I am 17 weeks into my second and still battling nasuea. I have not throw up at all, but the sick feelings have kept me in bed more than once. Food, smells, water, anything could trigger it too. Peppermint works wonders for me. I put one peppermint candy in a gallon of cold water in my fridge and just sipped it throughout the day. Peppermint tea helped quite a bit too.

Good luck and it should pass or atleast lessen.

Hi D.,
I can relate...When I was in the first trimester of pregnancy with my son I was very ill and I missed nearly a month of work straight. I was so sick to my stomach and vomiting that I also questioned if something was wrong. Nothing was of course; I got a tip from a retired GYNO. about morning sickness symptoms. He suggested that when I was feeling sick to have a teaspoon of mustard (I know it sounds weird) Apparently the mustard compensates for a lack of acid in your stomach which is what is occuring when you are feeling like you might vomit. I had my doubts but it really worked! It's worth a shot.

My sister and I both had the same problem and we got a med from the doc to help. I don't remember the name of it. You need it so you can take care of the others in your care. As for natural rememdies, I always ate little bit of crackers. As long as something is in your stomach it's better than not eating. I found if I can make myself eat just a half of cracker and some sprite it works. Good luck!!!

This sounds just terrible! No one could predict when your nausea will end, as each pregnancy is unique. My advice is to try homeopathic Nux Vomica 30c dissolved in a glass of water. Stir vigorously and sip by the teaspoonful when you are feeling nauseous. No need to put anything more in your belly, as I'm sure you'd like to avoid that. It is safe for you and your baby. I hope this helps you. Best of luck!

I've been told that you can get elastic wrist bands at the pharmacy in Walgreens or Target or anywhere that will help with the extreme nausea. The bands hit pressure points on the wrist that are connected with nausea. My friend's husband bought her some when she had nausea to the point of being almost immobilized. She said that whenever she wore them, the nausea was tolerable or gone. She called them her "Magic Wristbands".

Dear D., I had the type of nausea you describe with my first and only pregnancy, our little girl. It took me 15 minutes to crawl 10 feet because of the nausea. My doctor gave me phenegren pills and suppositories--it was the only thing that allowed me to eat without struggling to swallow each bite. I found some relief from cola syrup (over the counter at smiths pharmacy-poured it over ice and sipped) as well as Preggie Pops and Drops available at Babies r Us. Nothing made it go completely away, the prescription reduced it down to 10-30% of usual when I took them with anohter supplement called "Omega Mom" it has ginger and peppermint in it, you can get it at Wild Oats, I took it in the morning and night (2 and 2). My nausea subsided as the pregnancy progressed, but I had it until the day I delivered to one degree or another, never vomiting once in 9.5 months. Good luck, I am so sorry :(

Hello D.,

I just wanted to respond to your posting regarding extreme nausea. I experienced the same thing with my second and third pregnancies. I tried many home remedies with pregnancy number two, but nothing seemed to work. Unfortunately, I was extremely sick for the duration of the pregnancy and ended up losing alot of weight because of it. I hope yours isn't as extreme.

With pregnancy number three, things started out just as horrible - constant nausea, vomiting. BUT...this time my doctor prescribed a couple different medications. I was against taking them in the beginning, but I just couldn't afford to be down and out with two other kids at home. The first prescription was a suppository (I was unable to keep a pill in my mouth), then I moved to a pill that dissolved on my tongue, and eventually moved to a pill that I could swallow. Unfortunately (although the frequency decreased), I had to take this medication until I gave birth. The pill I was taking was Zofran, but I can't recall what the suppository was. You can probably ask you doctor about it.

I gave birth to a healthy baby girl on 12/31 so there have been no ill-effects of the medication.

I wish you the best - I know how horrible you feel!

I've been horribly sick to with all of my pregnancies. The entire time. I even threw up on delivery day with my first. I have taken Phenegren, Zofran, and on the current one I am taking meclizine Hci 25 mg. Phenegren is good but it would knock me out, so I used it on my first child when I had no one else to take care of. Zofran worked on second child, but neither of those would work on third. So, I am taking the Meclizine. I had a prescription for it, but when I went to fill it the pharmacist told me I could buy it over the counter. It is like six dollars for one hundred pills. I also would hit times during the day where I would get sick but I have found if I take this before I go to bed every night and eat as soon as I get up in the morning, then I am so much better. Oh, by the way it is motion sickness medicine. If I laid or sat still I was nauseated, but when I got up to move is when I would get so sick, so my doctor had me try it and it's amazing. Good Luck!!

I have three kids, first two were sons, and I carried them easily. The third, my girl, gave me bad time like you say, it lasted for about first three months, with the change of severity but never totally gone... then it quit and i had the rest of the time fine. I did not do anything special to easy the thing, except for what I said up in the message, simply because I lived deep in the woods, in mountains (no medicare).

I tried several things from my doctor and the only thing that really helped was taking vitamin B6 in the morning with breakfast and then with dinner I took a folic acid instead of taking the prenatal vitamin. Then throughout the day if I started feeling nauseous they have these great new B-natal lollipops (with B6 in them).

I'm sorry you are feeling so sick. I'm 19 weeks and still feeling sick. I done lots of reading and asked my doctor. A few things I read to help are to eat protein first thing in the morning. (My doctor said this one as well) 1/2 unisom at night and vitamin B6 in the morning. I know this is really hard, but helped me the most, was to get active. My doctor told me of a study that shows if you get your heart rate up, it helps with sickness. So when I feel ok I jump up and go for a walk or even just active to pick up the house. It seems to help. My doctor also gave me a prescription. It is called 'Promethanzine' it is actually for motion sickness. It doesn't fix it, but it does help. Good Luck.

When I had nausea that wouldn't stop, it turned out I was having twins!

Eat more often, smaller meals, every 3 hours or so. Take a catnap after lunch/afternoon snack. Go to bed an hour earlier (if you can still sleep). Try to get some exercise - walking or a recumbent exercise bike for 5-10 minutes.

If it continues to be bad, your doctor can give you a prescription. (Insert something here about B vitamins that I can't remember).

For me, with the twins, I had to eat lots more protein or I'd feel really sick. Steak worked the best.

Stay hydrated. Throwing up does NOT bring relief for morning sickness.

I had extreme nausea like you're describing with all three of my pregnancies, but worse with my 1st and 3rd. My doctor always told me that nausea was a sign that things were going well, so I wouldn't worry on that front.

My doctor had me take 1/2 Unisom pill with a vitamin B6 in the morning, and that made the nausea bearable (although be careful if you have to drive!). I've also heard that taking ginseng helps a lot of people, but it didn't really do much for me other than make me smell funny :) After about 3 to 3 1/2 months it just gradually disappeared.

Good luck! Let me know if you have any questions.

My first pregnancy I was sooo sick the entire time except for the 8th month. I was miserable I couldn't stand it. I didn't really find anything that worked for me. I did give birth to an extremely healthy 9lb,11oz son two weeks early! With my other children(girls) I found that eating crackers whenever I got very sick would cure it with in reason. I wish you the very best of luck!!! OH, I couldn't tolerate the vitamins with my last girl so the doctor told me to take two Flintstone childrens vitamins per day and it was the same as prenatal pills but easier on the stomach. In the end I couldn't tolerate them either but I had a perfectly healthy 9lb, 3oz. two week early baby girl!!!

Good Morning D.,
I'm so sorry to hear of your extreme nausea. As a Certified Nurse-Midwife, I've cared for many women with this problem in pregnancy. There is no magic formula, it's really about finding the right help for you. Just because you haven't experienced this in your prior pregnancies doesn't mean that something is wrong with this pregnancy or your baby. I'd recommend you find help from a healthcare provider soon. Allowing yourself to become dehydrated or malnourished is the biggest risk to you and your baby right now. Although it's ideal to start with dietary changes that might help you feel better (frequent, small, protein rich snacks or peppermint or ginger candy) there are prescription medications that can help as well. Have you ever considered trying wrist bands, otherwise known as "Sea Bands" or the electronic version called the "Relief Band"? I hope you feel better soon. Thankfully, most women improve by the time they are 12 weeks pregnant. You still have a number of weeks left between now and then so please take the step to seek some medical care to be sure you and your baby are OK.

Something you mentioned really caught my attention. I myself am nearing the end of my 3rd pregnancy and have had 3 severe episodes of nausea and vomiting inwhich I had to receive IV fluids. I figured out that it was because I was taking my prenatal vitamin at night. In the instances inwhich I became really sick, I didn't take it with my evening meal, I had forgotten and taken it before bed, on a realtively empty stomach. My husband is a pharmacist and he says that the PNV's can be very hard on the stomach. I assume because you are not eating very much that this may be compounding your nausea. Good luck and I hope that you feel much better very soon.

Start with a 1/2 unisom and 1/2 B6 vitamin (no prescription needed), or phenergen but it will make you sleepy. If that's not working well, try a B-vitamin shot from the doctor. None of these worked well for me, but have helped others I know. I have tried everything from wrist bands to ginger pops to hypnosis with no success. But I suggest you definately try Zofran (it comes generic now- so it is not too costly). It should take off the edge. Or you could get Zofran in an IV, but it takes time... The most important thing is that you get help! Call your doctor (he may just tell you over the phone since he will wait to see you until week 12?). Call neighbors, friends and family and ask for their help. They may not understand- even your doctor, but you need the help regardless. Especially with food! And care for your other children. You need to stay hydrated. I understand. I was deathly sick on all 3 of my pregnancies. Your nausea may peak at 8th/9th week. And then VERY gradually leave. SO it may be a while. Nausea statistically is a sign of a healthy baby, but your doctor can say for sure in your case. Your whole life as you knew it will change for a while. This will be a difficult season for you, but there is an end. It will come... so sorry.

I had awful nausea and vomiting for the majority of my pregnancy, so much that I was losing weight. My OBGYN gave me an injection it the hip that really hurt for a day or two but I didn't get sick until it wore off about two weeks later. It was a vitamin B (either 6 or 12 I can't remember) it was $10 a shot and I had about 6 of them. They hurt but it is worth it not to throw up or be nauseous all day for two weeks.

It sounds like you have hyperemesis. I had this with both my pregnancies. Last time it was so bad that I will not have any more kids because I could not take care of myself much less my 2 year old.

You should probably see your doc now and get both the Zofran and Phenergan. Phenergan does make you really tired though. It may be time to call on friends, family (and church if you have one) to help you out until this passes.

The first time it took 4 months. The second time I was sick in bed most of the first 4 months, but sick for the entire preganancy. I had friends come over once a week and help with laundry and house cleaning. My husband was on his own to make dinner for himself and my child. My 2 year old was usually on my bed watching TV. Not ideal, but we made it through.

Good luck! Don't try to be supermom....get some help!

This too shall pass : ). It will probably be over in a few weeks or at least the worst of it. The doctor told me that nausea was actually a good sign in pregnancy, it meant that the pregnancy had set in well and was progressing with the increase in hormones. I used to throw up when a food commercial came on TV. For some reason, things went better if I could eat outside. I would grab my plate and go sit on the porch to get away from the kitchen smells. Even better was to have someone else cook it and hand it to me outside so I didn't have to be in the kitchen at all. It used to help me to keep something salty in my mouth when I was feeling nauseous- I would suck on a green olive just to make it through the grocery store but probably anything salty that you like might work, just don't go overboard on the salt. Good luck!

My first question is: are you getting enought PROTEIN (eggs, yogurt, peanut butter, etc.) first thing in the morning? This is crucial b/c it sounds like your blood sugar may not be high and causing continual nauseousness. Try eating yogurt before bed, something like Mountain High or Brown Cow--this will help you maintain your blood sugar throughout the night. Then eat some protein first thing in the morning and throughout the day to keep your glucose levels level. Check out blueribbonbaby.org to look the the No Risk Pregnancy Diet by Dr. Tom Brewer. This will give you a good idea if you're getting enough protein in your diet.

I was sick the entire time with my second child. They are 15 months apart so I was changing diapers hrough it all. What I did was change the baby upstairs in the bathroom with the tub. I put her in the tub, throew up, changed her, threw up (often bathingher is needed), and then cleaned eveything all up. this was very hard during the last part when I was on bed rest and had abig tummy. But it did decrease some then and my daughter was over one year so the diapers reduced some. My surviving method is Zofran perscription. This is what they give you in IV if you go to the hospitpal for getting sick too much. It is a little disolvng pill you put under your tounge. Also Car table water crackers ar dry and prety easy to eat. My doctor had me watch it but I could drink Gatoraide or Vitamin Waters. Also, right before the birth, it got really bad again and I had no energy. I was on a flu diet. good luck, it it was over for me the minute my son was delivered. you just might need to get some help for your kids during the summer months. Or sign up for day camps. Also, I would highly suggest that you ask your relatives for housecleaning services as your baby gift. Sounds funny, but you will do so much better if someone else is handling the chemicals weekly. You mght even see if you can find a housekeeper as opposed to a cleaning lady. They do sheets, dishes, etc. during their stay. Or CU has a nanny service during the summer. Many of of my friends used them and you can ask for one to do light cleaning daily as part of their job...and you have a trusted babysitter in the fall.

I was like that with my first pregnancy. It was horrible. I threw up some, but not as much as I would dry heave; I just started carrying a bag everywhere with me. Even when I was driving. These are what helped me; things with ginger in them, ginger ale, ginger snaps etc, ginger is soothing to the stomach. Also just sucking on things helped, so lemon drops, jolly ranchers etc. Keeping your stomach from being empty. Now when those fail as they did for me, you may need prescription medication. The first one your doctor prescribes is phenegren, that did nothing for me, so then she tried compezine, that didn't help so then she resorted to I think it was called Zofran. That is what they give chemo patients. It was the only thing that helped. What sucked was I could only get 5 pills at a time, so I was literally at the pharmacy every otherday. But it was better than her next step, which was an IV line of medicine and fluid daily. Don't worry you are not abnormal, sometimes some babies just affect us different. My second baby I didn't even gag once :)

My advice is to tell your doctor that you need help with the nausea before you need an iv. Also there are these candies called preggie pops they made it so I didn't need the meds all the time. For myself, just the PreggyPops worked pretty well. I had the same thing where I was losing weight the first three months because I just felt sick to my stomach constantly, but rarely actually got sick. My sister, however, had this same problem where she's about 5'6 and actually dropped below 100 lbs she was so sick. They were able to use a mild dose of anti-nausea medication (similar to what they give chemo patients) and it made all the difference in the world. That may be a bit extreme, I'm not sure of your full situation. It turned out she was so sick because she was carrying twins...if that helps put your mind at ease :) It did go away, almost over night. It never hurts to get it checked out, though! Good luck!

I'm sure you've already done this, but you really need to call your doc. If your sickness is as severe as you describe, you definitely should call... Perhaps your prenatals are making your hormone sickness worse, and they can try you on a different brand.

Talk to your doc, but I would suggest using food-based vitamins. With my last child my midwife recommended using Juice Plus supplements along with Vit. B and calcium w/magnesium (I think). Her opinion is that prescription prenatals aren't everything pharm companies make them out to be. She prefers food-based because your body assimilates the nutrients so much easier. Growing your baby is taking so much out of you, putting synthetic forms of vitamins and minerals into your body is just asking it to do one more thing...

Hi D.,
Im sorry to hear how horrible this is going for you. I know just how you feel. With all three of my pregnancys I was so sick that I lost over 30lbs with each of them. Hopefully you wont be like me and yours will quit after your first trimester. My lasted till two hours after I had all my babies. Crazy times.
I know that you have gotten a ton of ideas but I wanted to offer the only thing that helped me out to you. Its called Herbal Aloe Juice. Its amazing for nausea. You can drink as much of it as you need too. I also do cellular nutrition. They are a Healthy Meal Shake so you just drink it and can do any of the 7 different flavors with fruit and ice. They are calming easy to digest and you dont have to smell anything cooking.(that was bad for me) If you would like to take a look at these products heres a link to a little video you can watch. www.pwcinfo.com click on the blue link that says personalizing your program. Then if your interested in trying it out email me and let me know!
D., I hope that you find something that works for you. I am sure that its a struggle but Im betting that you are strong and can do anything so I know you can make it through this. Let me know if I can help! Take care! and Good Luck!

Hi,
How horrible, I had that too in my first pregnancy... nothing I ate stayed in... ever. It was the worst. Luckily, with my 2nd one I figured out how to keep it from getting bad. I found acupuncture really helped me as well as diet. I really worked on making sure my blood sugar never spiked and never crashed and that really helped with my 2nd pregnancy to keep it away. Nausea was starting to come on and I became really diligent about what I ate and I was much better. Make sure you limit sweets and eat protein at every meal, 3 meals a day and healthy snacks in between. I hope this helps. Feel free to email me privately if you need advice on eating low glycemic.
Blessings,

Hi D.,

I do not mean to scare you but please see a Dr asap! I have four living children; I gave birth to six children. I had extreme nausea throughout my entire pregnancy with every single one of them (I know, one has to wonder why I kept doing it! LOL). Anyway, the worst, by far, was when I was pregnant with my twins- the third pregnancy. I was so sick that I could barely raise my head. I was in bed all day everyday, I was so sick. I was miserable! When I finally went to the dr, I was 6 weeks along, and I was told that I had severe hyperemesis. This is when you're so sick that you can't even hold down a single drop of water, cracker, or anything (I would vomit EVERYTHING back up). I was severely malnourished and dehydrated, as a result. I had a huge ole' belly on me already and they were amazed that I was only 6 wks along. They gave me a shot for the morning sickness and it went away

Hi D.,
I had nausea the whole 9 months with both my pregnancies. The one thing that helped me was taking half a pill of Unisom and 50 mg of vitamin B6 at the same time in the morning and if I needed to at night. Also the prenatal vitamins can make you nauseated. Try taking half in the morning and half at night with food. GL

I am pregnant with my 2nd... both of them have had me in bed wishing I would just throw up... all day most days. Last time they offered me Zofran... it didn't help me at all, but a friend of mine says it helped her immensely. This time they gave me phenergen (that may not be the correct spelling), and it is AMAZING... takes it away within thirty minutes... makes me tired, but I can deal with that better than wanting to constantly throw up!!! I think different meds must work for different people, but definitely ask about it- it is so horrible being so miserable. Other things my doc said was to try gatorade over ice... small sips, hard candy, ginger ale, and to try to eat every couple hours... especially something with a lot of protein before bed. I hope something out of that helps... sorry you are so sick... I know how much that sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!

yuck, sorry to hear of how sick you are!!! i did not experience such extreme symptoms, but the prenatals were the only thing that made me vomit, regardless of whether i took them in the AM or PM. the major thing that you are needing from prenatals is the folic acid, consider just taking a folic acid supplement for the time being. another trick i used was crackers at the bedside. i couldn't lift my head out of bed in the morning before eating one or two. if i even sat up to eat them i'd be nauseous for hours. but just reaching over and having a few before sitting up made a big difference. again, i was not as sick as you have been by any means, but these were a few little tricks that helped me get through the most difficult part.

I'm sorry to hear that you are so miserable. I had the same thing throughout both of my pregnancies. I'd like to tell you that there is a simple cure or something but I found none. I ate a lot of crackers and chicken broth, which seemed to make me less nauseus than anything else. I had to stop taking the prenatal vitamins because they were a big part of the problem. I switched to Flinstone vitamins as silly as that sounds, but it was reccommended by my mother-in-law who is a labor and delivery nurse. Hang in there, I know it must be difficult for you with other children. My step-son and daughter were both 2 when I was last pregnant so I completely sympathize with being in bed and sick, trying to raise other children. My girls are both really healthy, but never underestimate your instincts as a mom, if you are worried make that clear to your doctor. If he/she won't listen, get a second opinion. There are some safe nausea medicines your doctor can prescribe, ask about them. Good luck!

Call you Dr. and get some Zofran. It is the best nausea medication out there. It is ridiculously expensive and your insurance may not pay for it until you try a less expensive drug first, but it is totally worth it. I was that sick for 16 weeks and it was the only thing that got me through it. Good Luck!

The only thing that worked for me was to chew on fresh ginger root. Get fresh ginger root (in the fresh produce section of the store) and slice a tiny piece, and you can let it sit in your cheek or under your tongue. If that's too strong for you, grate up a teaspoonful or so, and make tea with it, maybe with honey if you like.
Good luck and I really hope you feel better!

I am so sorry you are not feeling well this round. I too had hard first trimesters. I would get so sick I lost extreme anounts of weight and wasn't eating or drinking at all! I was in and out of the hospitals and on some many meds for the nausea but nothing helped. Eventually the Dr had me discontinue the prenatals until I was feeling better, remain as hydrated as possible, and he gave me a prescrip of Zofran (I believe the generic for this is now available) Zofran is stronger than the regular prescribed phenegran. As I am preparing to conceive again I have asked my Dr how I can avoid the morning sickness this go round. He told me my vitamins and other levels have a lot to do with how I handle the hormonal changes and determine how sick I will feel. He has started me on prenatals now and extra iron supplements to prepare my body. Did you start you prenatals early? I would have you levels checked, they could be lower than noraml. I wish you luck, and eventually the nausea should ease up. Just remember to stay hydrated and the baby will get the nutrients they need even if you can't keep anything down. Check on some prescrips to help until then!

I feel for you. I have three boys and have been sick throughout all three. I don't even have the hope of feeling better until about month eight! Anyway, I have done many things to help the nausea and all have been suggested by my doctors. Try taking a unisom and a B6 at bedtime. I did that with my first and that was all I needed, but then with my third I also had to take dramamine every four to six hours during the day, it really made me drowsy, but at least I felt good enough to get up and play with my kids and maybe get a little housework done. Another thing you might try is preggy-pops: or just a mild (not too sweet) hard candy to suck on. I hope that something helps you.

I too had extreme sickness with my 2 pregnancies, which is why I only have 2 kids! With my first the Dr.'s did nothing and just told me to keep snacking so I would always have something in my stomach. Well, I still threw up everyday all day long, but ended up gaining 65 lbs! Note what I would suggest!

With my second the Dr. had a pic line inserted and I did IV's 2 times a day at home for about 7 mos! It did help after a while, but I still had to have someone watch my oldest because I couldn't do anything and I couldn't get out of bed for a few months either. Sometimes I threw up and sometimes I didn't, but I didn't gain any weight at all until I was 6 mo along.

I'm sorry you have to experience this. My Dr. also tried a few pills before the IV's, but they didn't help me at all, even if I could get them down. Ask your Dr. about all your options, most of the pills make you so sleepy though that you can't even function. If you have good health insurance I would just go for the IV's. The good news is that for most people with extreme sickness is that it usually doesn't last the entire pregnancy! Just most of it! : ( I also had to stop taking the prenatal. I took children's multivitamins instead, I like the gummy kinds the best.

Most people don't understand what this is like, they just think of normal pregnancy sickness, but this is something far worse, and I am sorry for you!! I prayed all the time for a miscarriage with mine because I didn't think I could make it. Hang in there, and ask people for help with your other children so you can manage. Good luck.

I have 5 girls. I have sooo been there. I had 2 pregnancies where I was nauseated for 17-18 weeks. My last baby I had to be put on Phenergan (?). I coudln't read I would get so dizzy. The med made me really tired, so that was hard too. Being tired was better than throwing up though. Both babies turned out fine. My oldest is 12, 4.0 GPA, athlete. The other one is 19 months. She seems to be developing at the same rate as her sisters did. I was told not to use ginger when pregnant. I did try some pressure point bands on my wrists during my 2nd pregnancy. They seemed to work ok. I wasn't as sick as I was with the first one for that baby though. Talk to your OB or Midwife. I promise you will make it through one way or the other! Take care of yourself!

I felt the same way with my first two (girls). It went away at about 5 months. Then came the third. I don't know if it was because he was a boy, but I couldn't believe I was pregnant until I saw him on ultrasound. I wasn't sick at all, I never felt yucky, sad or heavy. I have no idea why this was, but I would guess that some pregnancies are just different. I wouldn't get worried about something being wrong. You may have changed something about your diet and don't realize it? Hopefully it doesn't last long. Good luck!

Oh boy do I know your pain!!! At six weeks and three days I had to take a trip to the ER. I couldn't keep anything down. I was sick from around the same time in the am as you, but I would start vomiting the second I had anything in my stomache.... even water. I'm now 23 weeks and I still suffer with bouts of it. The only thing that saved me was a drug called Zofran. They gave it to me in the ER in my iv.... then they gave me a script for it. The pill disolves on the tounge, so you don't have to worry about trying to keep it down. (even though you have not started vomiting..... yet!) I had to take it everyday for a while...now I only have to take it sometimes. Talk with your OB and see if that would be something that you could use. They make the generic now so it is not too expensive. I work and go to school so it wasn't an option for me to be sick on the couch everyday. Plus I had tried everything that people said would help... ginger, crackers by the bed, flat soda, you name it... I tried it and it didn't work! Wow good luck I hope this info helps some. If you need anything else please feel free to email me. Hugs to you......D.
