I have a dear friend that made a five hour layover on Sunday afternoon at DFW while on a business trip. She wants me to come get her and go do something. Where is somewhere close to DFW and is fun and exciting to eat? I'm fairly new here and I'm still learning new places. Thanks for your help.

What can I do next?

You might try the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine. It's just minutes from the airport & has several cool restaurants in it.

I second the suggestion of Grapevine Mills and the Rainforest Cafe. It is unique, fun, and not too pricey.

The Gaylord is beautiful but on the expensive side.

Yeah, go to the Gaylord! There's shopping and good places to eat. You'll have plenty to do in one spot!

Anything around Grapevine Mills would work too - there's a Rainforest Cafe in the mall or several restaurants on the exterior like Love & War in TX, Cracker Barrel, etc.

They Gaylord is *gorgeous* but a little pricey.

I agree with the idea of Grapevine Mills you can hit Neiman's Last Call for quality shopping. Stay away from the Rainforest Cafe, the food is awful and expensive. It is OK for kids but for adults NO! I would go to Cozymels for Mexican and quiet conversation, located outside of the mall on the east side.

No matter where you go enjoy catching up with your friend!

Have Fun!
