If everyone would just ignore it and not feed into it, it will get boring to them/her/him ( whatever it is ).
Okay, so really, I don't get the Trolls. I think prank phone calls stopped being funny when I was in 7th grade! Who do you think these people are...teens, low lifes, people with no self esteem or positive relationships?!
Just had to vent I guess...and to see something besides misspelled words in a post! ;)

This one is just down right irritating! At least post a question that is somewhat readable, I think this child should be practicing Hooked on Phonics over summer vacation, not playing on a computer
I usually think the trolls are kind of fun.
The current one is so pathetic and desperate, it's kind of depressing.
6th graders, by and large.
With a few 2nd-5th graders mixed in (not to give our current troll illusions of grandeur at being thought older than they are).
this new one is an idiot, hopefully will disappear soon. People need to quit responding and just report or ignore till it goes back under the bridge.
My 3rd grader is more creative than this troll...and spells more accurately.
I'm not sure.
If I had to venture a guess, I'd say they probably are looking for a reaction - any reaction. By hooking us, they feel successful. I'm sure they spin it in their minds so that no matter the response we give, they feel superior and detached. Compassion could, for example, be interpreted as naivety on our part, any anger or frustration we show could be construed as weakness (or as a justification for further taunting), and a lecture would probably be seen as uncool, and humor beneath them. My guess is that, once committed to their internet mission, a troll sticks with it for as long as the run can last.
Most of us know that there are human beings on the other side of the computer, and do not delight in the idea of causing each other discomfort. I think the opposite is probably true for trolls. Most of us have a life and can't possibly sit here all night, cranking out answers. A troll doesn't have that same issue.
This latest one is just depressing. I'm with Jo, I don't mind the occasional troll, so long as they are entertaining. The latest troll is pathetic, and I don't find their questions clever or creative. Such a shame.
My guess is it's a very young and immature kid, trying to make us feel squeamish by talking about pregnancy and sex. It's something that only a regressed human would push. I mean, do they really think a bunch of mothers haven't heard of sex? Hah, how'd you think YOU got here kid? The stork?
If they're going to be our holiday mosquito, I wish they'd at least do themselves (and us) a favor by being less predictable, more clear (it seems like the lack of spelling and grammar are intentional, since there is a fluctuation of ability from question to question), and much more creative.
But, I doubt they have the capacity, or they'd already have us in stitches. Wit and flare are usually apparent within a few minutes of meeting a troll. And this one is seriously bland. *sigh*. Haven't they ever read any good fiction?
Isn't it funny that I have trolling-standards? I think it is! Set the bar high!
I reported several of them, but right now, I don't even bother to open the posts....
Damn, I didn't see this question. And posted my own... I think the troll is morphing, but not entirely sure, unless some new user thinks this is a site for 'unrelated at all to parenting' posts.
Oh, and Jo, I think they used your post as a tutorial...(cringe)...I think this troll is aware that the Mamapedia censors are probably not at their posts for the next day or so.
T.:
it might not be a teen!! It could be an adult who is drunk!!!
I have often wondered if some of the trolls we get on here is someone who is here regularly and just wants to see if he or she can twist some panties in a bunch!!!
I think some of the trolls we get are just lonely people who get their kicks off of doing stupid things!!!
I didn't get it either until now. I hadn't seen a troll before now. But I'm only on now and then.
The misspelling is done purposely whoever is doing it thinks it's funny. I'm almost sure it's a teen and if not a teen mentality. But even for a teen it's pretty stupid.
But even by all of us doing this we're feeding in. Just what little trollie wants.
You'd think someone would have something better to do than to make fun of other people. I'm sure this person is in a very sad state. Lonely and low minded to say the least.
The troll is spamming this site. Just report it's posts and ask for them to be deleted.
Well, Jo, I didn't get caught by this one. The posts were SO bad that I couldn't help but know this one is a troll!
T., do you remember the battery lady? I kind of miss her...
Dawn
I don't understand the appeal either. I don't respond to them, just report and move on.
.
See what gets me is that when I was young I would've found this site boring. I at least would start a post about sex or something! Kids today....I don't get it. It's summer, no school, later curfews, last thing I would do is spend my night on a mom's site!
supposedly, after a certain number of people have reported, a post will be removed. If we would go and just report the posts, it will get pulled. I think a poster is banned after a certain number of posts are pulled, too.
I'm with you. Looks to me like their time could be spent studying spelling.
I don't get it either. I mean, how can that possibly be fun??? Very odd! I'm sure this one is an adult trying to be like a child. I'm not sure a second grader is going to find this site, create a profile and learn how to post questions. Why on earth would they be interested in this site anyway? Problem is, relating their "intelligence" to a child's is insulting to children everywhere. At least most trolls form some sort of thought process and backstory. This new one is entirely uncreative and boring.
And some say weekend trolls are bad. lol
I don't even read the posts where the spelling in the subject line is so bad that I'm fairly certain I won't be able to discern anything else, and then, when there are 50 of them from the same person (perhaps a slight exaggeration), I really don't read them.
Dawn....you crack me up. The Battery Lady. She only pops up once a year or so, doesn't she?
Maybe she has found other opshins to her problum.
:)
