Had a question for any mums that live in the Pinery neighborhhod area.....was looking at a few houses there and all of them say Mountain View Elem. and there is a Northeast Elem.. So Mountain View is only grades K-2nd? Northeast is 3-5? Confused me. I am sad my kids wont go to the same school.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you guys so much for the information. I am glad to see the schools work together closely. How about the times they start in the morning, are they staggered?

This isn't the only school in Parker like this. It is a way for them to deal with overcrowding. Pine lane which is where my kids used to go is divided into primary and intermediate as well so one school is k-3 and the other is 4-6. Then middle school for 7&8 before going to chapperael high. Douglas county has had an explosion of growth in the last 15 years, so it just helps. In the k-3 school I think there were 700 students or something last year. My kids are homeschooled.

Hi J.. Yes, Mt. View is K-2 and Northeast is 3-5. I have a daughter that just went through Mt. View and will start at Northeast this fall in 3rd grade, and a son that will be starting Kindergarten this year at Mt. View. Mt. View is a great school with a great staff, especially their principal Drew Francis. Northeast had a new principal this last year, Jeannie Tynecki who has already done so many great things for the school. My son actually got into one of the charter schools (we had put him on the wait list when he was born) and we decided to go ahead and send him to Mt. View as we had such a great experience there with our daughter. The two schools work closely together and there is one PTO for both schools so even though they aren't in the same building, they try to be as cohesive as they can be.

Yes, they do stagger the start and end times.

Yes. You are correct. Mt. View is a primary school, and Northeast is an intermediate school. This split happened about three years ago.

HI! I live in parker, but have not heard of these schools, but maybe if you look at the douglas county schools website you can get more info. That is strange that they split up the grades like that. Maybe you could open enroll into another school they would both be in.
