For eggnog I suggest you go to the store and get the Horizon Organic Eggnog - it is delicious, rich and creamy, and already prepared! I don't even bother making eggnog anymore.
Hi out there all you festive ladies!! I will be hosting our 2nd Annual Cookie Swap next month and I am in need of a recipe for eggnog and apple cider. I found some online, of course, but don't want to have to make them to see which one tastes the best. So if any of you have one to share with me I would be soooo grateful. Thanks so much in advance, T.

Lordy Beeeeee - Try this out!
It's as easy as easy can be & it makes your house smell like Christmas!
Get the large container of Tree Top apple juice (not cider)
Get a large package of Red-Hot candies
THAT's IT~!
Clean out your coffee pot by running a cycle or two of water through.
Now place a filter in the pot as if you were going to brew a pot of coffee but place the red-hots instead of the coffee.
Put the apple juice instead of the water.
Start by using the same ratio as juice to red-hots as coffee to water. I like mine REALLY sweet and spicy so I usually double the red-hot ratio.
For instance if you use 3 Tablespoons of coffee to make 6 cups of coffee do the same, just use the candies and juice.
(But as I said...I double the candies in my case because I like it super sweet!)
Since it's so simple you can play with the recipe a few times before you serve it, it's not like you're going to spend a lot and waste it, right? It's good no matter what!!!!
If you choose to make this on the stove top you can use cider. I just would't use cider in the coffee pot because of the "sludge".
It's yummy and you can store any leftovers back in the fridge.
I second Christine on the Apple Cider. That's how we've always made it...2 qts apple cider to 2 oz. red hots. You can either use a percolator or just heat it on the stove until the red hots are all melted. Yummy! I can't wait to make some this year!
I make apple cider, but we call it Wassail.
I take about a 3/4 to 1 gallon apple juice/cider
3 cups of orange juice
2-3 cups pinapple juice
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 bag of redhots
cinnamon
ginger
cloves
or pumpkin pie spice
spices are to taste
measurements are approximate as I usually don't measure. I just make it until it tastes right. Or I fill the crockpot up. If there is to much leftover I put it back in the apple juice container and refridgerate. But I usually don't have much leftover or it is consumed really fast.
I heat it all up in my gigantic crock pot and serve.
Good luck,
L.
