I.K.
funbrain.com has great games for kids mostly focusing on language arts/reading and math. You can also select games by grade level.
Does anyone know of any free educational web sites for children? I have a soon to be 6 yr. old, a 7 yr. old and a 10 yr. old. They love video games and playing on the computer so I'm hoping to find something that will help in school.
I just want to thank everyone for the web sites they gave me. The kids have tryed out a few and they are having fun. Thanks again!

www.starfall.com - it has been a great resource to my kids ages 4, 5 and 8 and was recommended by my son's kindergarten teacher.

My daughter's second grade teacher has recommended the website http://aplusmath.com/.
My daughter loves it. You or your kids can create math problems based on thier level. It is a very friendly website.

You could try these:
I like www.factmonster.com
it has helped a lotw/ my kids 13& 10
it also has flashcards on line and games to help them
learn.
Good luck
Highlightskids.com and PBSkids.org are great.
I am a second grade teacher and my students use starfall all the time. You can also go to thrift stores and buy computer games, such as arthur and clifford. They are great for letter sound recognition.
I agree with the Starfall recommendation. I've also found some great links by browsing the New York Public Library kids page - http://kids.nypl.org/
National Geographic also has some good science links at http://kids.nationalgeographic.com/
Actually, I have a bunch of science links on my other computer. Email me if you'd like me to get those for you.
if your kids watch pbs there are learning games for every show on there.(sesame street, clifford, etc ) pbskids.org. My 5 year old loves it. There is also a pbskids.org/go/ that is for all of the shows the older kids like (cyberchase, eeko world etc.)
