My basic shrimp recipe is:
Seared Shrimp

Peel & devein
place in bowl w olive oil, chopped garlic, salt, pepper, pinch of italian herbs
marinate for 15min-1hr
Get pan smoking hot, get shrimp in 1 layer across pan (i use a slotted spoon to get them from bowl 1 to pan), flip w fork almost immediately, remove to bowl 2, do next batch (this keeps juices from froming).
Wash and dry bowl #1
Round 2, pan smoking hot. Shrimp out in one layer. Let sit without moving for 30-60 seconds. Flip w/ fork (should be golden crispy/seared). Let sit to sear the other side. Remove to clean bowl. Repeat w/ rest of batches
All in all it takes about 7 minutes to double cook 2lbs of shrimp, and you end up w shrimp on the barbie taste that get added to anything pr popped in you mouth like candy

Beyond the basics, you can marinate the shrimp in ANYTHING. Ginger, garlic, soy.... Chimichurri... tandoori spices.... bourbon and brown sugar... sriachi...raas el hanout... chinese 5 spice....cuban mojo....
Just make sure if you marinate in citrus to pull after 5 minutes, because the citrus will cook the shrimp
